I had a friend who would eat a coconut chocolat candy bar to get her sugar level stable.
Sometimes people need sweets for health reasons. While not diabetic, if I haven't eaten in a while, I get low blood sugar. A hard candy/sugary gum gives me enough to prevent shakiness & allows me time to prepare food.
