Tolkien did this frequently. I just edited a novella where a modern writer did the same.

That's been my experience. I remember this dynamic for as long as I can remember. There are good people among the devout, but far too many are wolves.
It's the Authoritarian Party. In truth, it always has been. 😟
Perhaps we should create a master list of e-mail scammers so that writers can set up filters to dump these people before their messages land in our inboxes.

I agree, but he's not in the Executive Branch. The 25th Amendment doesn't contemplate removing the Speaker of the House. According to the Constitution, who is next in line for the presidency?
But then we get Mike Johnson, right?
It's about being arrested and going to one of their internment centers.
I've used WordPerfect for decades. It's MUCH more consistent with formatting than Microsoft Word. But Amazon and other self-publishing platforms require Word. It's frustrating.
