Lying east of Leamington, the Leam Valley is a wonderfully wild corridor of wetland, meadow and woodland nestled against the River Leam.
Look for kingfishers darting along the river edge, and spot skipping butterflies dancing on the woodland fringes.

We have an egg! π£
Mum & dad aren't incubating the egg yet, but don't worry! Peregrine eggs have a smart adaptation which means they don't need warming until the second-to-last egg is laid. This will help all the chicks hatch at the same time in around five weeks.

The smew is an uncommon visitor to the midlands, where they're sometimes found on lakes and gravel pits.
Adult males are unmistakable, but most of the ones you'll see in the UK are greyer females and young birds.
Last year we had a few smew at Brandon Marsh nature reserve. Have you ever seen one?
