I'm excited to announce some major updates to our ProteinEBM paper with Chenxi Ou @sokrypton.org!
Finally out! Miriam's 1st, 1st author article!
1st last author paper as a group leader! A work that started 3 years ago when I was a postdoc in Alfonso Valencia's group 🥹

Thrilled to announce our updated preprint on the CANVAS method for de novo enzyme design, in collaboration with @birtehoecker.bsky.social. We show how CANVAS builds custom lids onto minimal TIM barrels, transforming them into efficient catalysts.

PyPI website with pdbfixer researched. Three packages below that are forks of pdbfixer "to be able to pip install it".
Also it seems a few people already had this problem and found some workarounds 😂
Could it be that there was a previous package called this name that has been deleted? PyPI doesn’t allow for redundancy, so the name would be blocked. However, PyPI is case sensitive: it should be possible to do a PDBfixer package (so "pip install PDBfixer" instead of "pdbfixer")
Today, our animation synthesizing decades of research on actin-mediated endocytosis in budding yeast was published:

Been excited about this one for a while! What would you do with a new alphabet and the wealth of protein sequence bioinformatics at your disposal? We're also around at #EMBOComp3D Heidelberg and MLSB Copenhagen this week to discuss
New 🧬✂️ pre-print! We show that paired prime editing can efficiently generate large deletions — even >1 Mb — with high precision and at scale. We use this to perform the first pooled prime deletion screen across the human genome.

We (@sacquin-mo.bsky.social, Chantal Prevost and I) teamed up with @etiennereboul.bsky.social and @ataly.bsky.social to design a parallelized MDAKit implementation of the Proteic Menger Curvatures. Local protein dynamics and backbone flexibility have never been easier and faster to compute 😁
Great talks & discussions at the 76th Mosbacher Kolloquium last week - in particular fantastic Lynen Lecture by Tanja Kortemme @kortemmelab.bsky.social and Eduard-Buchner award lecture by Dorothee Kern! And great to see so many old and new friends. @gbmev.bsky.social
Birte Höcker opens the 76. Mosbacher Kolloquium. We look forward to learning a lot about AI and the (r)evolution of protein folding in the next three days!
Feodor-Lynen-Lecture delivered by Tanja Kortemme (UCSF) at the Mosbacher Kolloquium. Congratulations!
Had a great time at the Mosbacher Colloquium 2025—fantastic science, engaging discussions, and lots of inspiration. Shoutout to Anna and Hubert for taking the stage and board with their work!!!

How do distal mutations contribute to enzyme catalysis?
Our new study, in collaboration with @thompson-lab.bsky.social, Marc Garcia-Borràs, and @ferranfeixas.bsky.social, reveals how they optimize structural dynamics & local electric fields to drive the catalytic cycle. 🧵👇
