If AI is writing software from now on, to any meaningful degree, React should be absolutely dead.
The *only* benefit of React was that most human engineers already knew it. It's the worst choice in literally every other way.
If humans aren't writing your code, your code shouldn't be in React.

We’ve been evolving Nuxt Content & MDC into Comark.
It's a fast, streaming-ready Markdown parser with renderer for @vuejs.org, @react.dev, @svelte.dev, HTML and even ANSI terminals.

Wishing your pup a speedy recovery! ❤️🩹
One of ours also was hit by a car a year ago and she made a full recovery.
A piece of advice I can give is to make sure to take him to rehab as that was a life saver in our case.
We said we would replace Labour and take the fight to Reform.
And that's exactly what's happening.
We need you.

GitHub Sponsors is live for rari — React Server Components on a Rust runtime.
46.5x faster than Next.js. 74K req/sec. Sub-ms latency. 53% smaller bundles. Survived HN front page at ~400MB memory.
I want to go full-time on this. Help me prove open source doesn't need a corporate budget to win.
🙋♂️ so ... for reasons:
I would love to know people's frustrations with:
- the current npmjs.com
- admin user flows on npm web ui (and cli, locally)

Josh's interview was AWESOME!
One big thing that I took away from his interview section was to build automations to simplify my life.
I also loved how he thought about performance optimization while writing code.

I’m not a big user of BlueSky (yet), but if anyone sees this I’m looking for work.
I’m a front-end developer, with a focus on low-carbon, design-led, accessible, websites — often using Astro and headless CMSs like Storyblok.
I’m open to freelance or possibly the right perm role 🤞
I’m more than happy to share more of the setup we had, although I’m not currently working there anymore. If you’d like I can also connect you with active members of the team.
The team at Agreena (agreena.com) is doing this same thing. Back in 2024 we started migrating our component kit from Vanilla Extract to Tailwind and IIRC there were serious conversations about creating custom utilities to avoid highly verbose classes (especially for pseudo elements).
A hot take after seeing yet another fancy tabs design:
the classic "tab component" is over-engineered for 90% of use cases.
You probably don't need it...
Getting to Net Zero is cheaper than letting the planet burn. Twice as cheap in fact.
If we do nothing, climate change will cost us 15% of global GDP. Getting to Net Zero limits those costs to 7%.
Great thread to get you caught up on CSS Layers
Hello there!
If you and your team are looking to level-up your Design System by introducing a bespoke Design Tokens workflow, I have availability in January.

DMs are now wide open!
Little Stormzy had his first trip out into the "real world".
Testing him out to see if he'll be OK for adoptions.
Look at him go! I think the early answer is a yes!
If you've missed my latest piece on Vitest Browser Mode vs Playwright, give it a read, it's great.

AI & Design Systems!
You can check it out and preorder here: aianddesign.systems
🤔 What if there were a conference without talks? Just hanging out with OSS maintainers & builders, seeing what they’re working on, and learning cool stuff by actually talking to people.
🤯 What if hallway track turned into the whole event!
💡 @tannerlinsley.com is exploring it. Interested? ⬇️
What little CS knowledge I have was hard won over a long period of time. I still don't really care for it, except where it's pragmatic enough to help me make better decisions while I work.
If you have a similar background to me, this article is your shortcut to more intentional programming.
I am looking for a full-time job.
Being independent in open source for 3.5+ years has been wonderful. I've gotten done most of the high-level goals I wanted to, and miss having people & structure around me.
If you know of a role for a staff-level TypeScript+web developer, let me know! 🙂
