In France, legislation came into effect recently for all car parks that have over 80 spaces to be covered with solar panels. Estimated to add around 11GW of renewable energy capacity to the national grid. Why not do likewise in Scotland? Braehead, Silverburn, Glasgow Fort etc.

Zack Polanski gives Keir Starmer the fright of his life as greens launch election campaign

This isn't about "frightening Starmer."

This is about replacing them, with hope.

If you want affordable rents, more council and social housing built, and an end to the gentrification of estates, then #VoteGreen this May.

This new raised crossing iny hometown is beautiful.

Used to be a road level crossing with a dropped kerb where cars would regularly not stop for pedestrians.

You really do love to actually see the progress.

A true patriot would drive an ERF or Foden, or even a Seddon Atkinson if they're of that persuasion.

Just used a voi scooter to do a 30min walk in 8min with two heavy bags of shopping.

This is particularly useful as I'm out for 6 days in my lorry and can only park in the industrial part of town a few miles away from the town centre (as should be the way).

There was even a top spec cycle path!

Long-time buddies Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols were out for a pleasant van drive in Oklahoma when, all of a sudden, their lives would change.

Pistonheads sucks. as a british classic car enthusiast it seems like the perfect place to discuss cars and other interesting topics, that's until you interact with the user base. it seems to be 80% right wing, empathy lacking, bitter old men; with the odd younger guy or cool engineer type. shame.

If I had a nickel for every time Franz Ferdinand was involved in the precursor events of a world war, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird it happened twice

Denmark responded to 1973 oil crisis by reducing car-dependency. Let's do that now. - Streetsblog Chicago "The government had to introduce car-free Sundays. And then people realized that the car-free Sunday was the best day of the week."

FYI the 1970s oil crisis was the impetus for Copenhagen turning into a cycling city

I feel confident that the sort of people who moved to Dubai to avoid paying tax would say that those fleeing war in other countries are not our concern and they should seek refuge in a neighbouring country. In this case I’d suggest Iran, which they can reach by small boat.

one of the best technological advancements in my everyday life is that when I need to wash my phone I can haphazardly run it under water with some washing up liquid or disinfectant instead of taking the time to carefully not kill it via drowning. goes for my smartwatch too. still amazes my ape brain

it's done a lot to my put my mind at ease and reassure my beliefs that being kind and compassionate is a realistic way to navigate life, both personally and professionally. I think I'll look at charities to donate to.

after not experiencing the NHS in my 25yr lifetime and only hearing about it's inefficiency secondhand I'm happy to say the system seems to work.

I've interacted with it twice last year and both times, within a day I had a satisfactory result, despite the obvious understaffing and overcrowding.

I think lewis and rayner need to join green. not sure why they seem to be clinging to the sinking ship, they're clearly bright and outspoken enough.
