These guys aren’t reading, thinking, or learning. She said her favorite this semester was a discussion post that should have been a 3 sentence about me. Someone used AI and forgot to remove the placeholders. “Hi, my name is [insert name], I’m studying [your major].” FOR 3 SENTENCES.

I sadly fear we’re headed there. I told her I fully admit to using the school AI to replicate a problem for repetition so I can solve more problems and really fix where I’m going wrong with something. But I’m not using it to solve anything for me. It’s a tool, it’s not meant to do ALL the thinking.

I knew it was bad just experiencing some of it first hand recently, BUT BOY IT’S WORSE THAN I THOUGHT. And I get that I’m at a state college right now so I can transfer to a university, I’m taking the cheap route to avoid loans. But this is sad. Maybe it’s a little better at the universities?

Kids are failing, cheating, and causing irregularities with the online testing. When they bring them in to retake tests, someone who got an A at home is failing in person, so more obvious cheating. Their plan with all this convenience is to go backwards. They don’t know what else to do. It’s sad.

Had a voluntary class tonight for final exam review. The final is 35% of our grade. It was just me. 🫠

Talked to my professor for a bit after we went over the few questions I had. She let me know as of next year with spring semester, they are switching even the online classes to in person testing.

I’m all for some guys who are more physical. By all means, lay all the legal hits you can. Make guys miserable. But I’m absolutely not a fan of someone who is reckless. This sport is so fast, and things can go wrong so easily bc mistakes happen, so don’t contribute to a terrible outcome on purpose.
