Lovely to read and hear these words, Peter! Thank you for mentioning GMB and St Magnus too.

Me too! ‘I’ve seen the arc of the earth from the Birsay shore’…
Thanks Graham!
Could be! I don’t know how the Order of the Holy Thorn collated their list 💒
Thank you!
Many years ago I used to write a blog...and here it is again! I went down a bit of a rabbit hole about the Crown of Thorns, encompassing one of my favourite novels, and a much-missed Tweeting nun. stromnessdragon.wordpress.com/2026/04/18/t...
Yeah so I immediately thought ‘species of dragon’ 🤣🐉 #astorytellernotanarchaeologist
Great stuff
Great piece of work here 👏🏻
Fantastic piece of work - well done! I’ll need to find it but I think there’s an original example in Kirkwall. That’s my quest for next week…
Having people for dinner, you say? I’ll just sit here. #caturday

Happy birthday Kathie! That’s a lovely photo 💞
He’s a cutie
Doing some reading on artwork featuring the four Evangelists. Found this one of Mark with his lion breaking the fourth wall 🦁 😆
I’m researching saints for a book I’m writing. Found this gem 🙏😇
Back of a Scottish RBS fiver, with two swimming mackerel
Back of an RBS tenner, with two frolicking otters
Back of an RBS 20 note, with two lively red squirrels
In Scotland we've had wildlife on some of our money since 2016 and the country doesn't seem to have fallen
🐭 oops
Noble work! 👏🏻
Yeah just finished the Christmas cake
Yes, hello, is that God? Yeah, hi. I have a complaint. You gave me this brain that’s designed for finding berries and avoiding lions and now people are ‘just circling back’ to see if we can ‘move the needle’ on ‘key initiatives’? NONE of those things are berries.
Superstar 🥰
Pleased to announce that my good friend Fran Flett Hollinrake will be speaking at this years Symbols of Mortality Conference. Fran will be sharing the story of HMS Royal Oak, sunk by a German U-boat in 1939, and the memorial to those who were lost. @storytellerfran.bsky.social
After weeks of rain we have some sunshine and a sprinkling of snow 💒❄️☀️
The light fitting is over 100 years old, and is part of the huge restoration project undertaken in the early twentieth century. The bulb socket is more modern for safety reasons but you can't see it from the outside. The shade is a cut glass 'pineapple' style, very popular in the 1920s.
A large brass bell hanging on a stone wall, flanked by a Union Jack and a White Ensign.
A Special Theme Curator Tour with Fran Flett Hollinrake will take place in the cathedral on Sat 7 Feb at 1000: 'The Legacy of War from the Middle Ages to Modern Times'. The tour lasts one hour, costs £15 per person and there is no need to book.
So, @nessbattery.bsky.social. You gave me Reggae Shark; I give you…whatever this is.
Awww, nice one @dannyrobins.bsky.social! A Mastermind champion! You cut it a bit fine but many congratulations 🙌😅
