Mamdani giving the Met Gala a pass (this year funded by Bezos) is exactly the kind of signal politicians need to adopt.

Small car owner here and rural. This isn't the best fix but it does help those in places like where I live who are economically challenged.

Didn't he just give TO a ton of money for things like transit? Might be wrong about that. Not the best idea, no. It gives us poor rural types some help.

The tax will be reduced for all the transit you travel on that uses gas or diesel.

As for AI-generated film, Werner Herzog is unimpressed.

Carney just removed federal tax from gas until Labour Day. Looking forward to Brookefield/O&G theories about how this pads his pocket LOL

Yesterday I had a discussion that went south fast when I said he wasn't going to convince me but good luck to him etc. It seems that insulting people to have the last word is a thing here just like everywhere else. I guess I have to also stop engaging here too.

No one seemed to discuss this but Elton John and Paul McCartney are totally hilarious in the new #SpinalTap.

Thanks for the insult.

Good for you. Worked in the environment/Indigenous world for years so I know the issues. But you have a great day, I am moving on.

Seriously I get it. Move on LOL

An electrical power grid made thru clean energy. But again, you hate him. I will leave you to it.

You won't convince me but you seem passionate. I hope Lewis turns out to be great. I mean that since I used to volunteer for NDP years ago. What would be awesome is if they can become the opposition party. But I have long given up on those kinds of hopes LOL

Um...building a power grid with ownership in Nunavut seems to me to be probably the best thing I have heard for those people in decades. That is one example. He has a history of pushing for energy transition too. I dunno, people see what they want I guess.

Wow, that is a lot of conjecture. Singh was supposed to save & renew the NDP, exactly what people are saying about Lewis. Sorry, I don't see the Harper analogy at all. People want change, then it comes & they want change again LOL

Why didn't you vote for Singh? Where was the NDP in the last election? Why jump on the Carney bandwagon? I am not remotely surprised or regret voting for him. People hated the Liberals but voted for them anyway. Sorry I don't get it.

Yes. Carney doesn't care about people's opinions, what he cares about is their expertise, what they can bring to the table. Her riding stands to become very important in an energy transition era. He is a team builder for sure.

I know. The public is sick of tribal politics & would like to see all sides work together. Gladu has some heinous opinions but she has distanced herself from them. Also, she is a chemist with deep ties to that industry. The world has changed, the NDP hasn't.

The NDP's endless purity tests are going to be a problem if they ever form gov't. Is the suggestion they wouldn't do the same? Canadians almost gave Carney a majority, and frankly it was their party that helped with that. Why isn't he giving pressers about real issues???
