If you're seeking an entertaining sci-fi book for your summer reading list, consider In The Cold And The Dark. It is a story that combines Mars, motherhood, and murder. This novel offers plenty of mystery, action, and adventure for fans of those genres. books2read.com/u/mK2xgd

For International Moment of Laughter Day, here is a joke: Why did the chicken cross the road? . . . . Because it had to, it was raised organically as a free-range chicken.

The historic photo shows:
- a typical reddish rocky Martian landscape;
- part of the lander visible in the foreground (a white metallic structure with red cables);
- a deep yellow sky;
- soft, hazy shadows – nothing crisp or sharp about them. That happens because the sunlight has to travel a really long way through all that dusty Martian air right at sunset, getting scattered in every direction.
The whole picture hits you on an emotional level: it really brings home the loneliness and that strange, otherworldly beauty of the Red Planet. Suddenly, something that happened way back in 1976 doesn’t feel like ancient history anymore – it feels almost within reach.

This fascinating image, showing the Chryse Planitia region of #Mars, was taken by Viking Lander 1 about 15 min before sunset on 21 Aug. 1976, just a month after the lander touched down.

The camera is pointed southwest.🔭 🧪 ⚛️

Photo of the Martian surface taken from space by ESA's Mars Express. Several large craters can be seen to the left and right, but the central feature is a ridge of rock down the middle. Flowing from that ridge, gravity waves can be seen in the clouds, forming parallel lines that fade off into a more uniform cloud cover. Smaller versions can been seen next to several of the smaller craters on the left as well.

#PPOD: Lee waves are atmospheric gravity waves that form when stable air flows over significant topographic obstacles like mountains, volcanoes, or large crater rims. As the wind is forced upward by the terrain, it undergoes adiabatic cooling, causing water vapor or carbon dioxide... 🧪 🔭

Well, sad to see this coming but it's good the producers get to close out the show on their own terms. #ForAllMankind has been drop-everything-and-watch-it TV for me since the start, I love it. (Six Seasons & A Movie? Just sayin'...)

Outdoor staircase designed as a stack of oversized book spines at the University of Balamand in Lebanon, each step painted to resemble classic literary works including The Republic by Plato, The Divine Comedy by Dante, The Prince by Machiavelli, Faust by Goethe, and Critique of Pure Reason by Immanuel Kant. The colorful stairway is set in a landscaped garden with greenery and flowers on both sides, creating the illusion of walking up a tower of world literature.
