Starting a garden!
I know it’s a bit overcrowded, I figured the deer would thin it out a bit and didn’t want to go out for more plants too soon.

Today is the 2 year anniversary of when I met the Ravens. They just checked me out from a distance then! Here is some of my fav footage: them courting, feeding each other, barrel rolling and some of their vocalisations. They are the most amazing birds and I am so lucky to have them!

It’s scary to oligarchs and their toadies when someone starts trying to make government work the way it’s supposed to. How will they steal obscene amounts of money when it’s being spent on potholes?

The fact that Mamdani just seems like a cheerful normal guy who's policies are things like "we're going to tax second homes to fund pothole repairs" or whatever and yet this generates panicked responses like "This is basically Stalin's great purge turned up to eleven" is... telling. It tells things.

NEW: The Pope is doubling down.

In Cameroon today:

“Woe to those who manipulate religion and the very name of God for their own military, economic, or political gain, dragging that which is sacred into darkness and filth.”

Threats to Library Funding End With Settlement by Trump Administration

They've unfortunately zeroed out funding AGAIN in this fiscal year budget so folks are going to need to continue to fight. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/13/a...

With any luck someone will do a similar survey for Cambrian creatures. The best of this would be anomalocaris of course.

Understandable that the world recognizes that China is currently more rational and prudent than the US. And they're quickly moving past us in everything from renewable energy technology to international operations to promote good will. It's going to take decades to rebuild what we've lost.

I’ve heard people talk about the 1920s, 1930s, 1950s, 1970s, and 1980s as times in US history where everything was hunky-dory economically compared to today, and as best as I can tell they’re just referencing the cozy vibe of period-piece movies and TV they’ve seen

Chicago Turns All Public School IDs Into Library Cards To Boost Student Access Chicago Public Library and CPS announced the expansion of The 81 Club, building on a pilot launched in 2022 to give students access to the library system's vast collection and databases.

This is such a good idea. We should do this in NYC.

"All Chicago Public Schools students now have access to nearly everything the city’s libraries have to offer — including physical items like books as well as extensive digital resources."

@ItsBCJim

The bad part of getting older is that you become an NPC, the good part is that being an NPC rocks. Nothing like walking down the street with a thought bubble that's just a sandwich you're looking forward to. Protagonism is best left to teens and the insane

From a Million Miles Away, NASA Camera Shows Moon Crossing Face of Earth - NASA A NASA camera aboard the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) satellite captured a unique view of the moon as it moved in front of the sunlit side of Earth

One of the problems with people not sharing things with attribution, AI etc is that we (rightly) don’t trust things that are real. This picture is making the rounds today and I’ve seen multiple ppl say it is fake. It isn’t!!!!

As Governor, I would sign legislation into law, like Florida and Tennessee, to ban chemtrails.
Supporting legislation to protect the air we breathe is just common sense.

My hot take is that you shouldn’t be allowed to hold public office if you are so stupid that you’re scared of atmospheric condensation
