had a death in the family and was almost completely off the internet for a few days & my observation is that there is too much happening too fast such that basic facts abt the world are difficult to ascertain unless you are mainlining info all the time & doing that seems to drive people insane

At least for now, there is no longer a legal basis for the EPA to take action on climate change.
History will see this for what it is — an embarrassing, anti-scientific backslide that will jeopardize the well-being of billions of people and countless ecosystems for centuries to come.
🚨🚨🚨 Everyone buckle up (and charge your devices)
Album cover of Lorde’s album Pure Heroine
Haven’t heard it in years but this still rips
Thank you @mikeryan.bsky.social for this inspired birthday karaoke selection and for documenting this occasion @katerbland.bsky.social
A ribbon of green light topped with red swirls across the sky, high above the silhouettes of spear trees. The forest rims a barely frozen pond that reflects a bit of the light.
Ribbons of bright, red and green light fill the sky behind the tall silhouettes of spruce trees. The red light is on top of the green.
Looking straight up into the night, sky, green swirls of Aurora form of Phoenix, like image surrounded by red light that is glowing higher up behind it.
Looking up into the night, sky, curtains of red and green light pour down from high in the atmosphere a start contrast of the silhouettes of trees.
A few more photos from tonight’s incredible #aurora. I’m fascinated by the amount of red light tonight. This is generated by oxygen molecules being excited by light plasma at least 600 km above the Earth. The green is also oxygen molecules, but much lower (100-250km). Definitely a great night.
This desperately made me want some movie theater popcorn and made me miss going weekly to the movies. Loved every word 🍿🍿🍿

Bluesky is truly having an incredible run as Threads' head of product
This morning I dragged myself out of bed at 3:00 to head to the West End Bridge in hopes of capturing the moon over PPG Place and the Christmas tree at the Point in #Pittsburgh. Luckily the clouds stayed away for long enough to allow that to happen. Made for an amazing view.
At least one item on his wishlist has been granted: Bluesky has decided to quadruple the size of its contract workforce of content moderators from 25 to 100, the company told Platformer. The move comes in response to Bluesky’s rapid growth since this month’s US presidential election, which triggered a fresh exodus of users away from Elon Musk’s X and over the weekend took the platform past 22 million total users.
Some news: amid rapid growth and some over-enforcement of its community guidelines, Bluesky trust and safety chief @aaron.bsky.team tells me the company will quadruple the size of its content moderation team www.platformer.news/bluesky-grow...
Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, or Alice in Chains
Welcome to holiday travel season. I have a new feature out today about how and why flying has gotten so much better and so much worse, depending where you sit on the plane. Gift link! www.bloomberg.com/news/feature...
Fully remote teams will always be underestimated. Some of the best teams I ever worked with I never saw in person but had great productivity and relationships
I see a lot of you still sharing posts from the obviously fake Count Dracula account, so please be aware:
- the real Count would never post during daylight hours in Romania
- his full given name is Vlad, not Vladimir
- he does not actually say “blah” and would never write it out in a post
Matt will need to be rolled like a boulder out of IHOP when he’s done. Good luck sir
Just grabbed Hans Zimmer tix for Brooklyn in February. Pumped to see some of the most iconic film scores ever live. Many presales around the country happening now: www.ticketmaster.com/hans-zimmer-...
