Tosquelles says: “Faire magie” and “fromage” are the two teats of culture.

Found on my camera roll from @lazz.bsky.social’s screening of “Potential History of Francesc Tosquelles, Catalonia and Fear” a few months ago… Radical psychiatrist Francesc Tosquelles cracks a pun & a smile while dropping the secret to collective life ✨🧀

Major breaking trans news: The ACLU has launched a lawsuit on behalf of 7 transgender people affected by Trump’s passport ban.

Incredible filing. The Trump admin is now swarmed with lawsuits over discriminatory and illegal executive orders.

Tr**p's proposal to displace the entire Gaza population isn't shocking. He's a billionaire landlord and developer. But tons of Americans don't see a problem with homes or land as financial assets bc they think it could be them one day. The entrepreneurial fantasy is also one of escaping capitalism.

Stop fucking saying he blamed “DEI,” which is some abstract, non-tangible idea. He is blaming people of color having jobs he thinks they aren’t qualified for. He’s blaming race. He’s being racist every time he says it. Journalists need to get fucking backbones, my word.

A Red Flag for a Bull: On Constance Debré’s “Playboy” | Los Angeles Review of Books Lazz Kinnamon reviews Constance Debré's

For LA Review of Books, I reviewed Constance Debré's magnetic novel Playboy — at turns petulant, cutting, sexy, and a necessary armature for softness. Out today from Semiotext(e). With thanks to my friends and editors for making it possible

All I can think about is how individual strategizing to avoid consequence just forms a collective hegemonic picture — e.g. a president postures in support of isr@el to retain funding, effectively buttressing genocide. And what a fucking disgrace it is for tenured faculty to be doing nothing

“Recovery is extremely rare in the first 2 years, posing a major challenge to healthcare systems.”

Maybe assuming it’s okay for *absolutely everyone* to be infected w/ a new disease that (unpredictably) in a small percent of cases results in as-yet incurable long-term disability wasn’t a great plan

2nd Bomb Threat Made To Ellen Ochoa Elementary; Parents Check Students Out Of School A message to parents stated that police are investigating the second threat to Ellen Ochoa Elementary in as many days. Police say students briefly sheltered in place while staff searched the campus.

Libs of TikTok posts video by an Oklahoma elementary school librarian to mock the librarian for mocking the moral panic about a “woke agenda.” School superintendent reposts it. Multiple bomb threats to the school follow. www.newson6.com/story/64e621...

The Evisceration of a Public University West Virginia University is being gutted, and it’s a preview for what’s in store for higher education.

I wrote this piece in The Nation about the cuts at WVU and how small states will crush their R1 unis to cash grab for big tech. WVU is the only R1 in WV and these cuts will shred higher ed in the state. Please read and share.

Did you read the recent new left review pieces on feminism-as-harm? What you're saying here reminds me of that debate. One of them asks if feminism's core has to be a "negative" one and idk, it's all pretty difficult to parse imo
