New work this week with Japanese model Mya Chan. Necessitated a trip back to Liverpool and Libre Studio.

Tried shooting tethered for the first time yesterday. It’s another string in Evoto AI’s bow. Canon R8 to iPad via a TerherTools 10g cable was simple to use.

And the ability to do a preemptive retouch on the first image with that applied to everything afterwards was pretty cool. V impressed

Hey, I'd like to say your comments didn't bother me, but it got under my skin a little

I've just checked the images posted here on a 32" screen, there is absolutely skin detail, it's not smoothed out. I guess you were either trolling for the shit & giggles or you were looking at a smaller version

Is it a particular image? I just don’t see the lack of texture on them.

I’m not sure what it is you’re looking at to make such a statement. There was minimal skin retouching done on these.

It’s all good though everyone is entitled to an opinion but my work is for me and my collaborators.

Was recently in France pet-sitting (a great way to get a very nice holiday for just the cost of flights & a hire car - accommodation provided by the pet owners). This afforded me the opportunity to shoot in Toulouse on my last day & to shoot with two great models in very different shoots.

Catalina

A French model makes multiple movements in a long exposure frame. Her motions are frozen periodically with multiple flash fires creating a sense of multiple personalities, angst, rage and of conflicting emotions.

Conflict

More experimentation this week. This time in the form of long exposure portraits with multiple flash fires. I've had this unformed idea of duality for a while, and I think I've now found the visual vehicle to explore further.

On this last trip I wanted to get out of my comfort zone. Raf Van den Bogaert was such a great help. Not only with the use of his studio but also his numerous suggestions for different ways to light things.
