Today’s agenda: Pretending this Lego build is somehow relates to my research. Sure, it’s not writing, but I am justifying it as hands-on engagement with queer cultural production. A win on the dissertation front.

Current status: dissertation? Who she? I don’t know her.

Motivation? Presumed dead.

Me? Doomscrolling and eating snacks in bed.

I just woke up from a dream where the floor was lava.

Me: Babe, the floor is lava.

Husband: Not again. I’ll get you coffee, but you gotta get out of bed sometime.

Me: Fine…. Don’t forget the cream!

Channeled my inner Judy —poured a glass of rosé and sat down to write. Now I have a perfectly chilled wine and zero words (but lots of feelings).

Dissertation work has consisted mostly of me dramatically sighing while opening and closing the same document without making any changes.

I’ve summoned a cybernetic fetch demon—powered by chaos, fueled by a “baby” (aka stuffed toy).

A plus to the Blizzard in the Plains…. The weather takes it out of our dachshunds. Look at Linus, sleeping like an angel. Enjoying the calm before he wakes and resumes his role as the AIC (A**hole In Charge).

Indeed it does, but for all I know, I’ll be reenacting “The Shining” by day three. Note to self to watch the film again to ensure historical accuracy.

There’s a blizzard on the way, and as an introvert with a fully stocked pantry and provisions to last a month, I can finally live my dream of socializing exclusively with my couch.

With sleep gummies, valerian root tea, and a weighted blanket of miniature dachshunds, I’m basically staging an intervention for my insomnia—because clearly, it won’t take the hint.
