Ah well, it was fun pretending that anything could get better for a while.
OMG this. I finally had to get my license a couple of years back after making do with public transit, and it took me three tries. I got better, sure, but the real deciding factor was how lenient the instructor in the car decided to be that day. It shouldn't come down to their mood!
Is it weird that this feels like as much of a sign of the times changing as democrats winning all these special elections?
Those were some hardcore criminal toddlers, though. They could have been smuggling fentanyl for al qaeda!
I don't think this counts as total cultural victory, but I'm at a loss as to what else to call it.
There's a personality type out there that can't countenance the possibility that 1) they could be objectively wrong, and 2) that the person they're trying to convince isn't obligated to give them a chance to prove they're correct.

I dunno why but the stretcher is destroying me
Too sleepy to stay awake, too awake to sleep.
Why am I not surprised it's in fucking Nassau
Born too late to escape taxes by hoarding generational wealth
Born too early to escape taxes because the united states has collapsed into balkanized civil war
It very much feels like we're just going to spend the whole life of this country (and given the position of economic privilege and power we're in, that means likely most of the life of this species) repeatedly fighting the same battles over this country's original sins.
This actually just sounds like the policy you'd invent if you specifically wanted EVERYONE to declare war on America
I wasn't allowed to watch Simpsons, SNL, or All That, any remotely "mature" tv at all, because my mom was afraid I'd learn "bad lessons" from it.
My dad had me watch Terminator and Robocop at 9 years old, though.
I'm sure the plagiarism machine that also turns into a sycophant that flatters your worst impulses unless you order it not to (sometimes not even then) will not give religious rightwingers any horrible ideas.
...I'm going to have to explain to relatives that Jesus isn't in their PC, aren't I?
I seem to recall someone saying cold IPAs go really well with buffalo wings, so in that context I can see them getting really popular. But I have to be in a particular mood to actively seek them out.
Everything in late-stage capitalism is just crabs in a bucket forever
I know nothing about the character except that she's Supergirl from a universe that no longer exists. (Or at least, that's what she was at one point). What about her draws you?
Someone tell the nice folks on Artemis II to just....stay up there.
HE'S A NEPO BABY
IIRC, the author of XKCD nearly lost his partner to aggressive cancer, so he might have a let a bit of his bias show through here :p
I would love to know your friend's logic for that one, being a D&D-playing Christian myself.
They are? Shit. We'll see if they can avoid making all the same mistakes
Yup. The only companies I see getting through this alright are smaller pub houses and studios like New Blood and Devolver. The big guys have outgrown their own consumer base.
It rules that I know nothing about this game despite it having existed for years because unlike every other piece of media with heavy spoiler content, the entire fanbase actually takes that "no, REALLY, no spoilers, see it for yourself" thing seriously
The Bs stand for Bag
I have finally beaten A1 with all characters, 50 hours later. Phenomenal game. It's already almost as big as final release version of StS1 and they're planning to keep adding stuff right up to version 1.0 and beyond.
I'm still not sure I know what I'm doing.
