Sorry for the rant, but I have now tried powerplay on 7 different occasions, for literally hours each time. I really want to join in, but it is NOT inclusive.

searching the internet, reading tutorials and watching videos to find out the task is badly described and I’ve misunderstood.
Either fix this, or make it so that powerplay isn’t shoved in my face everywhere. I mean as @laveradio.bsky.social say “How hard can it be?”

This is not about intelligence, or skill, or ‘gitgud’. You have made a system that is, frankly, bad. The naming systems are illogical. Every task is a toss-up between e.g. “impossible because there isn’t a hackable holographic advert in a reinforcement system” and “I have to spend 10 minutes or more

Now imagine that every time you do anything in powerplay, due to a disability (like ADHD) that high cognitive load task has been largely forgotten. So you have to learn it again. Queue rewatch of video that is harder to pay attention to the second time (due to ADHD). This is not fun.

#FrontierDevelopments here is why powerplay in #EliteDangerous is so frustrating: look around at how many people are asking the same questions when they start powerplay. The tasks all have high cognitive load. Then look at how long a tutorial video about that is. I think they are about 5-10 minutes.

“Lazy” and “naughty” aren’t diagnoses, they are moral judgments. Teachers and managers should be better than that. If you write someone off as either rather than discover their barrier and provide support, you’re the one who should be morally judged.

If you have in any way stated a NIMBY opinion, I think you should be challenged to state who’s back yard and why. Fully take the mask off.

If you are voting in your own best interests in a way that harms others, I can understand that. I can’t agree that it’s right, but I understand. However, can you selfish pricks who do this STOP pretending it’s anything other than that?!

I know it’s only a minority (a very small one at that) but I wish I could get certain parents to realise that my job isn’t to support their child in avoiding education, but to help them get one. Apologies, it was a long day.

Teachers, if you use the word “just” please know that my conditioned response is to disagree with what follows. “Just lazy”, “Just naughty” or anything similar is nonsense. Neither of these is a diagnosable condition. Don’t prove your ignorance, dismiss my professional advice, then ask for help!

I see far too many teachers IRL and in the internet who seem to think that their job is to teach the compliant, engaged, enthusiastic children and kick the rest out to be dealt with by someone else. The easy ones in short. Why would you need a highly skilled educator for that?

If you have any SEN or are needing advice about SEN provision in schools, for the love of whatever you hold dear, do not go into teaching subreddits. It will either make you sad or be legally questionable. Likely both. I saw this daily. Have now muted them for my mental health.

People who say stuff like this show they genuinely have no clue. My school has banned phones. I get the head to make a reasonable adjustment for pupils who need them for medical purposes. If those children abuse that, a conversation happens. “We treat them like humans” shouldn’t be a radical idea!

Here’s the thing: Im not saying to assume there is a need, I’m saying that assuming there is no need doesn’t solve the problem and by the very definition is ableist. Ignorance is no protection from the law. Discrimination is discrimination. Besides, you don’t know what else is going on in their life

Everywhere I go on the internet I see able people accusing those who are struggling of being lazy or suggesting they just try harder. They assume others can’t have a Need. They do this based upon little to no info. When challenged they something like “not everything is a special need!”

Try to avoid the temptation to grind for things all in one go. The grind is massive if attempted like that and you’ll burn out. Don’t be afraid to take a break from it to do something else in game for a while. Even try switching between different grinds. This will keep it fresh.
