The title of rarest of rare species in Michigan belongs to the Poweshiek skipperling, found in just a couple prairie fens of the highest quality in the country.
Rare moths often rely on rare plants. This gal is the blazing star borer, found mostly in wet to dry prairie remnants in the Midwest. Have to stay up late to find the good stuff.
