Just fucking help people. If you can do something to fix a problem, and it costs you nothing (and in cases like this, *actually helps you too*), just do it, for god's sake.

Sometimes it doesn't matter who made the problem, what matters is who's in a position to sort it.

The history of the internet is a history of making a new platform. Twitter doesn't need to be resurrected, just reincarnated. And one day, Bluesky too. It's how it is.

I fantasize about a directed EMP device that overloads the finals and I can watch the speaker cones exit the cabinet. Mostly for the people in the alley at 2am with subwoofers...

I kinda miss Second Life actually...I fell into some furry and pagan communities that were fun to be around.

I'd been wanting to get into VRChat, maybe to do some Japanese conversation practice, but I'll tell ya, theres enough toxicity, and I'm rejection sensitive enough that I'm holiday from some of the _better_ Japanese Discords.

I think we're both old enough to remember when people were polite.

@deviantollam.bsky.social Just watched your video on the green lights on escalators. This was in the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. The up escalator was already broken, then the next day, this happened.

The quote is from a comment my friend made. Furries break elevators too.

A tall Furfest Transit sign stands indoors near glass doors. At the top is an illustration of a black shuttle bus with a cartoon wolf waving from the open door. Below it, large text reads “FURFEST TRANSIT! All routes start and end at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center Turnaround.” Three vertical route columns are shown: Red Route A, Blue Route B, and Green Route C. Each lists hotel stops with colored dots and connecting lines. Red Route includes Rosemont Market Place/Target, Staybridge Suites Chicago O’Hare–Holiday Inn, and Sonesta Chicago O’Hare. Blue Route includes Chicago Marriott Suites O’Hare, Courtyard by Marriott/Hilton Garden Inn, and Hyatt Centric Chicago O’Hare. Green Route includes Crowne Plaza Chicago O’Hare, Aloft O’Hare, and Fashion Outlets of Chicago. Service hours are listed: Thursday 1pm–3am, Friday 8am–3am, Saturday 8am–3am, Sunday 8am–1am. There’s a notice about independent hotel routes (Spark by Hilton Des Plaines) and service adjustments stating that Target/Rosemont Marketplace and Fashion Outlets stops may be skipped depending on conditions. QR codes appear at the top right and bottom, and a small badge says “Take a photo to remember!” The sign has a blue-and-green splatter border theme and sits on a patterned carpet next to someone’s leg partly visible on the right.

MFF is so big that I ran into, count them, four entire individuals in the hallway that I knew.

A view from the top of an escalator at Midwest FurFest shows the escalator’s sliding handrail disconnected from its track, sagging outward and separated from the metal guide rail. The curved top section of the escalator emphasizes the misaligned handrail. A large decorative banner fills the left side, while a metal guardrail lines the landing area. Convention attendees in varied outfits and badges walk past the escalator entrance, and more people are visible on the busy lower level. A posted “Safety Rules” label is attached near the broken handrail mechanism.

Inside the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center during Midwest FurFest, a view from the bottom of an escalator shows the upward escalator’s sliding handrail visibly disconnected and drooping away from the metal edge. The escalator steps are intact, but the misaligned handrail runs unevenly along the side. To the left, a large open lobby area is filled with attendees in colorful costumes and fursuits, some standing and others sitting on the carpet with bags. Bright vending machines line the back wall, and a shiny reflective ceiling with square lights hangs overhead. A bold red column with a wall sconce sits next to the escalator.

Depression
Leaves You exhausted no matter how much you sleep.
Makes you lose interest in things you love and makes everything feel impossible.
Makes you feel sadness, shame, helplessness, pain and then makes you believe it is your fault.
Convinces you that people you love have forgotten you.
Can make you think uncontrollably about ending it all.
Isn't your fault and does not make you unworthy of the love you deserve.

LiveJournal made me actually feel connected to the people in my network, as we read longform stories about each other’s lives. Definitely nothing like Twitter or Facebook

OK, this may fit your interest too. I’m at Midwest Furfest in Rosemont, and it’s got so many overflow hotels that they are running a shuttle service and calling it a transit system. Like colored routes and everything. Maybe have the market at Daley Plaza and Millennium Park with free shuttles.

I’m shocked. And old. Do you know how old? I’m having flashbacks to the price of RAM for a Macintosh Plus, before the prices came down.

That’s an old dental chair. Think Jeffrey Epstein meets Little Shop of Horrors and let your imagination run wild.

black and white drawing on a grey background, with red accent. Depicts a triangular pile of bones in a sketchy style, with a white rabbit standing on top, holding a femur. Its face and chest are covered in red stains.

So there’s one that means it’s possible that something can be seen, and there’s another one that implies that the scene can be done with volition or effort.

No, it’s just I’m a Cryptid and unless I make an effort to be visible or people make an effort to see me, it’s like I’m not there. And oh my God my brain is thinking about the difference between the two Japanese verbs for being visible.
