i grew up with james bond jr and pierce brosnan. i really don’t give af what they do to 007.
did anything even come out yet? i thought that epitaphs from the abyss is coming out in july.
if anyone is interested, here’s the apple playlist for my soundtrack to my new story.
sort of a preview of what’s to come….

i think i’m pretty happy with it and i guess that’s all that matters. but i’m hoping others will enjoy it too.
okay i’m almost finished with my new writing project for my zine.
it’s a 10,000 word semi-autobiographical story that takes place over one day in 1998 and involves the remake of ‘psycho’ and a fugazi concert.
the fact that there’s some good stuff in it almost makes it even more infuriating because it was in service of such tone deaf dreck. i’m definitely avoiding ruben’s films from now on. won’t fool me thrice.
now that I’ve had a couple days to think about it…. I very much did not care for “heart eyes”. there’s more to like in it than in “scare me”, but it still can’t escape its own terrible script.
any chance you’ll ever get at that PM catalog?
was leni riefenstahl a dei hire?
kinda like we should all avoid knowing anything about Sakkari now!
not really sure who needs to see this right now… maybe we all do.

“garfield: a tail of two kitties” has a pretty incredible cast that kind of elevates this little delight into a minor masterpiece…. but goddamn it, roger rees is so brilliant. he’s the anchor. you buy this ridiculous world because of him.
julie doiron and the wooden stars still hits so hard. what a fucking album.
four guys i definitely could not keep up with (and wouldn’t want to try)
ebert was so weird with sex. he acted like a 12 year old horn dog in that sense, but he was often at odds with films that showed sex in an explicit, challenging or thoughtful manner.
i hate watched every week as a kid. they were my first experiences of screaming at the television.
yeah it’s corny… but this movie works. sure, the music does a lot of the heavy lifting… but I revisit it every few years or so and it always hits for me.
god i love sunrises in new york city (hashtag no filter)
sometimes i feel like i’m the only film geek alive who still admits they hated siskel and ebert.
there’s plenty of good ones, but the ratio is insane. musical biopics tend to be the absolute worst. for every “topsy turvy” or “yankee doodle dandy” you seem to get three dozen “bohemian rhapsody”s or that putrid judy garland movie.
love it. death to biopics!
are you messing with me?
3/4 of what they portrayed regarding newport is utter bs. Dylan “going electric” is just about the most overblown controversy in the history of rock and roll.
and don’t take my word for it.. it’s all recorded. just listen to the records.
can’t touch soderbergh
the leads are all fine except norton as pete seeger who is extremely fun to watch… especially when he is nodding his head approvingly with a knowing grin whenever he’s hearing a new Dylan song for the first time.
the dylan movie is so supremely stupid. the entire dramatic crux of the film is “will he go electric at newport 65”? there is literally nothing else to this insignificant piece of dress up hokum, except maybe a tiny guthrie side story that goes nowhere.
honestly… if you think little things like laws and constitutionality are going to stand in his way, you really have not been paying attention.
the old rules no longer apply.
it’s already happening… i thought it would maybe be a month or two before he started “joking” about a third term… but he’s already doing it.
there’s no doubt in my mind what’s coming.
call me crazy all you want… but every single warning sign is being checked off like some apocalyptic to-do list.
