This is such a cool take on psychic abilities. not just a classic telepath, it feels like partial assimilation of thought, which is way more interesting (and creepy). I especially love the idea that the "voice" is just a constructed illusion working as an interface to make communication digestible-

Ironically, those technical limitations created a sound that feels decades ahead, almost like proto-keygen or demoscene music, yet completely by accident.

If the gear had been any "better" (more linear amps, higher-fidelity tape), it likely would’ve sounded cleaner and far less alive.

The warm, uneven harmonics were probably due to Soviet transistors and tubes with inconsistent manufacturing tolerances, which meant that no two amps behaving quite the same.

Combine that with primitive tape machines, and you get that tape-saturated bloom and rounded high end.

Credit to commenter on the video [davioloplatinum7065]:

They likely pushed low-grade amps, speakers, and pickups way past their limits, resulting in this fragile, sputtering saturation that feels more like a dying circuit than controlled overdrive.

I introduce to you, Sokol! The first ever Russian rock band, active from 1964-1969, there are only a few recordings surviving to this day, From Film, Film, Film, Gde tot krai, and another one i can´t remember the name of, but this record is special for a few reasons

I think Shevchenko is/was happy to know that KINO wasn´t forgotten, but actually got much more famous beyond the soviet perimeter

during those times there was a genuine fear that with the ending of the soviet union that music would of faded into the past
Post-soviet eastern europe was also no joke

Formed as Вторая Серия in 1992, Shevchenko mimicked Tsoi’s voice to preserve his presence.
It was meant to be one recording, became two albums, never officially released. Bootlegs and non-permitted redistributions and sale killed the project in 1993.

I found a forgotten KINO tribute album, "Я смотрю кино (Памяти Виктора Цоя)" recorded in 1992, just after Viktor Tsoi’s death & the USSR’s collapse. A grief project that got bootlegged, shut down, erased. Made by Viktor "Tor-She" Shevchenko

Stalin was referred to as a "fascist"... Given my family history (Russian Revolution, Holodomor, Holocaust), that kind of historical revisionism, combined with "we don’t owe you a debate", while i tried *explaining* myself in good faith, crossed a line for me.

For clarity: I support queer people and recognize the very real danger they face. My issue was with selective definitions of extremism and being written off by identity. I didn’t communicate perfectly, yes, but I was genuinely flabbergasted and tried to quietly withdraw. Screenshots below.

Stepping away from Project Silverfish. Can’t recommend it anymore. I was muted for challenging a dangerously skewed take on extremism, then dismissed by the lead dev as a "19yo hetero" and told “we don’t owe you a debate.” The game is good. The dev behavior wasn’t. [more below]
