I'm a big fan of Philly Bike Action's approach to street safety advocacy.
They use kindness & fun as a tool, hosting 'parties' with music or giving out free soft pretzels.
At the same time they're unafraid to push hard for timely actionable change.

Help us call on city and state leaders to prioritize safety in one of the busiest pedestrian corridors in the city. Sign the petition for safer infrastructure on West Market Street to prevent more deadly crashes! bikeaction.org/campaigns/we...
Despite the obvious dangers, Philadelphia leadership and PennDOT, the agency that controls Lancaster Ave, have yet to make any real improvements to prioritize safety.
Lancaster Ave has an inherently dangerous design for an urban setting: wide lanes with an unprotected bike lane often being used as a shoulder. This type of design promotes speeding and makes the corridor unsafe for everybody.

On Dec 20, June Rodriguez was killed in a hit-and-run at the intersection of Lancaster Avenue and 56th Street in West Philly.
June was a beloved friend and DJ in Philadelphia.
If you have any information please call the police.
Can PPD & @mayorparker.bsky.social ask officers to keep the new City Hall bike lane clear? Penn Square is not a place where you want people on bikes to have to go out into mixed traffic!
No useless half-measures. Join us tonight!
It should be "How frequently does this occur?" I believe this refers to the specific vehicle, but I would just use your best judgement

It's getting even easier to report cars blocking crosswalks, loading zones and bike lanes with a new tool from @bikeaction.org.
The City of Philadelphia is expediting reversing the street direction of the 600 block of South LeCount Street. This may save lives. Immediate action is possible!
Thanks to our tech lead Ee & other PBA volunteers and average Philadelphians doing their part, we’ve already completely changed the level and quality of data that the PPA is receiving on dangerously parked vehicles. whyy.org/articles/new...
We're working on getting it added to the Apple & Android app stores, but until that happens there's unfortunately no way to pull from photos taken outside the application.
We're using their smartsheet, but from the user's end it's all handled through our web app, which I think you'll find is a much faster way to do it!
How it Works:
Go to bikeaction.org/laser to access Laser Vision. Follow the onscreen prompts and submit. That’s it!
You must have a bikeaction.org account to submit to Laser Vision.
Remember: never confront drivers. Be kind, report accessibility violations, and stay safe!
Snap a photo of a vehicle obstruction and Laser Vision will submit a report to PPA's Mobility Access Violation form using location, make, and model captured automatically from your photo.
New tool launch! Make our streets and sidewalks safer and more accessible with LASER VISION: our new tool that makes it easy to report blocked sidewalks, crosswalks, and bike lanes to the Philadelphia Parking Authority. bikeaction.org/laser 📽️⬇️

We are calling on City Council, our State Reps and Senators, and the Parker Administration to ensure crucial safety projects are not delayed and that PennDOT is held to a higher standard of safe design for vulnerable users in our city.
