The pace in studios is unhealthy. I was expected to produce extra work, which was almost never used. For one studio, I made 1.3k drawings in 1.5 years, and roughly 300-400 in the next job, which lasted 9 months before my mental health got so bad I wound up in a hospital for stress, and was let go.

Sometimes when I do work for myself I feel the injury acting up and I wonder how many more years I realistically have to create more of what I want to make, all for the whopping 2 years of full time studio work. It wasn't worth it. Keep art a hobby, pals

Freelancing excepted, I deeply regret getting a full-time job that involved drawing. My drawing hand hurts so badly. All I did was clean two rooms for 20 minutes. I'm not even 35 yet 😭

For me it is proof that it was never about not having the money or the manpower imho, it's about control, so yeah, I personally see it as a major red flag for a brand, business, event, and organization.

It's a bad look and I personally avoid organizations & events that use it, and will avoid boosting/engaging with the events online. Was personally told by one I offered to do work for (for free, as a pro woth 10+ years' design experience) that they had it covered- then they started using AI...
