People willing calling people by their chosen names of Clavicular or Sneako but complain about trans people pronouns. Get fucked

Isnt it the other way around: you find out someone died precisely because everyone who knew about them found them annoying?

Guys, there is no shortage of mediocre white dudes out there. If your electoral politics require you to vote for some mediocre white dude, and one of them turns out to be awful, say a sex pest or a Nazi or some other kind of milkshake duck, you can just find you another one. There's no shortage.

I only know of two mainstream philosophy journals that still accept emailed submissions. Almost all of the others are either publisher-owned (so use a publisher EM) or elect to use a bespoke EM

How interesting. Then, yes, people should be routinely removing their names from document metadata.

Out of curiosity, is the nature of emailed submissions to the journal typical for journals in that field?

There are open source/free EMs, which although time consuming to set up, might also make life easier in the long run

Your editorial manager/software doesn't do that automatically? Or do you take submissions as .doc/docx files? The two journals I edit this problem is fixed by the EM

The whistleblower who broke her silence on the New Zealander of the Year A complaint made during the tech titan’s time as Xero CEO led to an investigation – now a former employee is speaking publicly.

His response to the allegations are typical: oh no one complained to me about my behaviour towards those who worked for me. #nzpol

Precisely. "The Brain of Morbius" might well be great, but it turns out to be high art when compared to "The Android Invasion" that preceded it.

« Do people sincerely believe conspiracy theories that they endorse? » This is a very cool paper with a nice and straightforward methodology (involving secret raccoon soldiers).

So anyway, you shouldn’t go to the Nazi bar and buy drinks there, no, not even if that means that the bartenders there lose money, because putting the Nazi bar out of business is LITERALLY THE POINT and if you’re not a Nazi, this is a good heads-up to start looking for a different bar to bartend at.

The degradation of society:
1. Celebrating the k!lling of a CEO
2. Cheering on warehouse arsons
3. Making heroes out of people who attempt political violence
You can be outraged at the system and still not glorify violence. These aren't wins. This is a society losing its moral compass.
[Coming from a liberal btw]

I don’t know how people keep forgetting that workers rights were entirely written in blood and the capital class had to be threatened with violence before they agreed to things like 8 hour working days and 2 day weekends.

This was someone who I had thought was a friend before they moved in.

A great moment to remember why Scruton's FT column came to an abrupt end.

The amazing part is that I know two other people who had even worse experiences with this person as a flatmate

There are enough incidents for a six episode season, with a potential second season where maybe the writers have to take some liberties

This is also the flatmate who flooded the kitchen but denied it. The flatmate who came home to find the door that locks when you close it and decided that I had locked him out. The flatmate who tried to claim he paid a lower rent because he didn't think we would check the documentation.

Not just on the Nazi bar website, but a post on the Nazi bar website linking to the Nazi bar newsletter site. It's Nazi bars all the way down!

Who cares what the denizens of the Nazi bar think anyway, right?

I get its a joke, but technically he can’t. Mortal sins cannot be absolved, and murder is a mortal sin

Yep. His chief virtue is being for rather than against the EU, but on most social matters things won't change much (except maybe less anti-immigrant rhetoric)

A lot will be written about how Fidesz ran a bad campaign, but the US trying to influence the election probably helped boost Tisza’s vote

So, with full acknowledgment that Hungary will still remain socially conservative, how about that fantastic news about Orbán’s bad day?

To say it is long and slightly boring somewhat overstates the case; the acting, for example, is great. But I don’t see how this is considered a classic in any real sense.

#AnatomyOfAMurder is considered a classic. At almost three hours, I’d recommend that if you have an evening spare, watch something else

Hans Zimmer is a transphobe.

A tweet reads "I worked for him. I did good work that he praised, but after transitioned he quickly had me fired. He had cue notes named "tr*nnv fight"' etc etc... It's a pattern of abuse that will inevitably come out over time, and I'm glad that the industry is changing slowly."
