Fun game: which is a postmodern Greek theologian, which is a groundbreaking jazz composer?

I’m in! Don’t know about Flood’s radicalism, but ready to learn!
I’m thinking he chose Leo in homage to Leo I, and things are about to get crunk with dyothelitism

It’s such an honor to read a review that engages so thoughtfully with _Leaving Emmaus._
Medieval Catholics added purgatory to heaven and hell as part of the eschatological landscape. “Eastern theology, fortunately, never achieved such topographic completeness.” Ha!
When I reviewed Bulgakov’s Bride of the Lamb 21 years ago, i recall thinking that the last 200 pages were filled with gems buried in endless redundancies. Now that I’ve reread them: gems buried in endless redundancies

"The distance between the Persons... is the foundation of contemplation."
It may turn out that anything helpful I ever say about the Trinity is a footnote to von Balthasar. I think I'm cool with that.
The preponderance of uninterpreted von Speyr quotations in von Balthasar’s work is one of the great oddities of 20th theology. In Theo-Drama V it comprises nearly 1/2 of the book

“It is just not right to look at other people’s cards” (404).
It took von Balthasar 15 volumes to get to that core ontological truth.
As promised: here’s what Tillich thought about Schelling’s #eschatology

No, but it’s now on my list. I love the great westerns —Unforgiven… 3:10 to Yuma… I miss more than I see though
Good to know. Modern Western tears are good tears

I’m considering posting 1 minute reviews of my readings in #eschatology. Would that be interesting to the #theology Blue-niverse?
