Anyone else tried using the Venous to Arterial app related to the publication?

I’m unable to enter a comma or decimal point for the pH value — which makes it impossible to input decimals.

I’m thinking about a non-medical approach to using simple urine markers in marathon preparation, aiming to individualize hydration, salt and protein intake in healthy runners 🏃‍♂️

Any nephrologists here who’ve seen or tried something like this? Very interested in your experiences

This sand timer my son got for brushing his teeth says “30S”.
Either it measures 30 seconds – or it blocks a bacterial ribosome.
I’m guessing macrolide activity.

Are there any nephrologists/urologists with an interest in kidney stones who would like an early look at our online supersaturation and kidney stone risk assessment tool based on EQUIL2? It has been a long time in the making!

Yes please! I’ve actually looked for something like this several times, especially since the NO STONE trial. I’m still using the R package for now.

Cool, so in a googol years (10¹⁰⁰), the universe succumbs to heat death—no stars, no energy, just an endless, cold darkness.

Thank you. I contacted her, and we will proceed with the biopsy. Some oxalate stones in urine sediment, PPI in medication, broad differential.

Has anyone used the Kidney Failure Risk Equation (KFRE) in a patient with heavy tubular proteinuria? I expected a worse predicted outcome with a UACR of 1 g/g creatinine and a UPCR of 9 g/g creatinine. Thoughts?

Haven’t seen this twist coming—so basically, this old joke is just 10 years away from coming true?!

I’m going to be honest with you: that’s not what I imagined the production would look like.

Actually, mostly what I remember about them is that they have REALLY cool names (TWIK, TREK, TASK, TALK, THIK..?) and a role in stabilizing the negative resting membrane potential 🔌🔋

Thank you ❤️ I used to think it was just me not understanding renal physiology in med school. Turns out the material we had barely covered it—and, honestly, even the profs didn’t fully get it either (mine specialized in two-pore-domain potassium channels)

I can’t believe I just ordered a print version of a 23-year-old book just to follow along with the fantastic Channel Your Enthusiasm podcast.

Cool, drug-induced Hyperoxaluria! I don’t know how many people do this but calcium oxalat nephropathy / AKI due to brazilian hair straightening seems to be rare? Do you need a second hit? Dehydration? Metabolic Syndrome?
