While coffee chains generally suck there are plenty of small family run coffee shops with shitty coffee where I live. In fact, most coffee shops in Northern California serve shitty coffee. EU is better but can be hard to find brewed coffee

For me the issue is social media posts that link to paywalls without indicating that the link is to a paywall. These are essentially unpaid ads disguised as posts. I usually end up unfollowing people who do this a lot. I pay for plenty of subscriptions. I can’t pay for them all.

I’ve seen is a local Neighborhood Radio Watch group. This is a GMRS radio network set up and operated by volunteers who monitor local fire/law enforcement radios and Watch Duty. In the event of a wildfire in the area they send out alerts and info to all members via GMRS radio.

NOAA Weather Radio is an available tool that could help in these situations. I suspect that this service will suffer greatly from the budget cuts though. Local government can help but is often too slow in rapidly developing emergencies. I live in a high wildfire risk area. The best solution…
