The early meta for champions is really interesting so far.
The far lower powered format has allowed for some neat building.
Top megas are def Zard Y, Gengar, and Floette, but a good handful of other megas viable.

But I will say, no AV in M-A with Floette in the format is wild

I think Meganium’s ability is the best of the ZA starter trio by a mile sure, but tbh I don’t know how it’s gonna break into viability genuinely when it’s checked significantly by 4 of the mega’s who will dominate the early format.
Zard Y, Metagross, Salamence, Gengar all are potent checks to it

Bahamut Blitz weighing slightly more than Pegasus blast in its stock combo insane.
Like on paper the stock combo sans ignition feels potent, before even factoring in heavy or a metal lock chip

All of the info we got for champions this week has me very excited.
You can see all the QoL features right in the open and the future of competitive Pokémon is looking good imo

Meganium being the biggest winner here is want on my bingo card.
That ability does a good chunk of heavy lifting for it.

Gator’s is bizarre cause it’s not baaaad but I don’t think it’s entirely what it needed.

Emboar well. It was gonna take an act of god to save Emboar

boost, always has fire type weather ball.

Idk how much heavy lifting this does for it but that ability is good

Emboar is the biggest loser here but tbh it was gonna need a miracle to save it anyway. Low tiers need megas too.

Gator is okay? It’s not a bad ability but I don’t think that’s what it reasonably needed to be successful.

Looking at blade design in X and then the storm spriggan X-Over remake its jsut a reminder how ugly the blade design itself from burst actually was.
