Transom is turning 25 and we’re marking it the best way we know how: by getting together for a weekend of exceptional audio. Join us in Woods Hole, MA for a very special gathering:
• Workshops + talks
• Deep listening
• Food + beach + rest
Sept 17–19, 2026. Details coming soon. Save the date.
Pin these rules to your wall. Thank you, Erica Heilman @rumblestrip.bsky.social
At year's end, we'd be very grateful for your donation to Transom and APM in Woods Hole. We're working toward a much improved New Year.

Our newsletter just DROPPED! In it, info about The Listeners, making Scott Carrier’s “Old La Sal,” as well as two sermons from @jayall.bsky.social in 2016. Plus, a few Traveling Workshop updates. Check it out here: transom.substack.com/p/over-the-t...
Moab!!
Locals still hope WGBH might restore trust with the community it serves. Article in P-Town Independent.

We're really excited about our new project, The Listeners, and doubly excited to start if off with Scott Carrier.
An old one! But maybe still useful.
Forward,

We need this kind of gathering in order to move beyond the issues of the past year and build a working partnership supported by listeners. Public Broadcasting's current crisis is too large to ignore. We must pull together. It is not too late.
Everyone will have a chance to describe their vision, what they love or want to change about CAI, and how best to keep CAI local as we move into the future.
CAI supporters can hope to find renewed faith in the station, and GBH in Boston could benefit from hearing the views of the local community it serves.
Neighbors listening to neighbors is at the heart of public radio and local journalism. We're professional communicators, after all, so let's communicate in order to clear the air, have a transparent exchange, and lay out positive plans.
The conversation would be mediated and held at the new CAI space where GBH plans to host public forums, or any suitable location. APM would be happy to help organize, fund, and facilitate. The conversation could air on WCAI.
Given recent protests and a year of discontent in the community, Atlantic Public Media proposes a public forum to rebuild trust and preserve Cape and Islands community engagement in our public radio station, WCAI.

My recently acquired pride and joy. As one of my sons said, "Don't worry about the radio station, Dad, we have a low miles, square body '86 Chevy S10 with extended cab, stick shift, and 4 wheel drive."

An Open Letter to WCAI Staff,
I write this letter to explain why, as founder of WCAI, I cannot join you for the “ribbon cutting” at its new Falmouth location this Friday.

I love being on my favorite podcast, even though my face seems really huge here.

Cape Radio Supporters: Many of you have reached out with questions about where things stand with WCAI, WGBH, and the Davis House. ... it’s time for a statement, which carries both our frustration and hope. We suggest some solutions and action plans here

My son Mason just took this drone shot of the houseraft Steve Junker and I built (mostly Steve) here in Woods Hole. Ah, Summer.
