DTF St. Louis was a slow burn but I'm glad I stuck with it. Episode 5 in particular was a highlight. I can see the cast doing well during awards season. Great performances.

My electrician thinks I should write a film like Rocky which is a good idea because Rocky made a lot of money. Why aren't I writing the new Rocky?! π
𧡠On Birmingham's historic Station Street is the nearly 120 year-old Electric Cinema. Film enthusiasts know it very well. Others might not.
But beyond film fans, the Electric could become very significant for Brum at large. At least, that's the bet of Ian Francis.
In all honesty losing a pet is awful and losing a pet rabbit at Easter is probably the worst possible time to lose one.
Spending my Easter digging a hole to bury my daughter's pet rabbit which to be fair is probably the most Eastery thing I could do.
I asked A.I. to complete my novel using my own writing style and it did my laundry, went shopping, cleaned the kitchen and spent the rest of the day dicking around online.
I just signed a petition to help save the Friends Institute in Birmingham. Itβs been an amazing community hub since 1897, but the council is planning to close it down. We need to protect this space you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/sa...?
I'm not obsessed with PTA I just watched an interview with him before I went to bed, Zendaya on the other hand must just live in my head rent free.
Dreamt about Paul Thomas Anderson again. He wore a white suit and could read Chinese. He was showing me some locations from his latest film, then at some point he morped into a young girl that looked like Zendaya who was making me sing and tap dance with her but I wasn't very good.
Director Ben Wheatley designs the frankly beautiful Film Stories issue 59, on sale now. Here's what you'll find in its 168 pages:

Me watching the Scala doc: it's such a shame I'll never experience the grungy cool of watching a film at the Scala. π’
Me in Odeon New Street: Those teens are talking too loudly, the carpet is sticky and my chair doesn't recline π’
Watched Hamnet and it did make me cry but watching a Variety interview with the child star saying he just wants Hamnet to live on because it's not fair that he died emotionally broke me π
I felt for sure he must be working with Chalamet on something, why else would he appear to be morphing into Chazelle?
Watched it at Mockingbird Cinema yesterday. Still available on the big screen if you're a cineaste like me.
Dreamt I was shadowing Paul Thomas Anderson on his latest film, a period piece set in my old primary school. β¨ Manifesting β¨

If you eat a hot cross bun cold is it just a cross bun? If not does it become a hot hot cross bun if you heat it up?
Well, that explains the erratic delivery times.

DTF St. Louis suggests a CSI type extended universe with DTF stories in various exotic locales.
They should rename it One BAFTA After Another!
Great night last night with Screen B14 screening Meshes of the Afternoon with live score by Piera Onacko followed by Sisters with Transistors documentary. As a female filmmaker I'm always pushing to programme more films by and about women and found the night really inspiring β¨
If I hear one more person misuse the phrase 'One bad apple...' I will lose my mind. One person completed it by saying 'let it roll away and save the orchard.' That's not the phrase! It's 'One bad apple spoils the whole bunch' ie. one bad apple is one too many! Have these people never bought fruit?
Dreamt that me and Benicio Del Toro were going to star in the final Tarantino film. Quite an exciting dream you might imagine except I spent most of it explaining to Benicio how a futon worked which seemed oddly to perplex him no end.
