I was going to bring up Sonic as well. I think it stems from wanting to forecast the future direction of a franchise. Financial success is interpreted as “the company will do more of this” and the opposite is interpreted as “the company will give up on this idea”

Yeah this is a bizarre design decision. Surely it would be easier for them to work with a list of things your character has equipped and their character creation data directly rather than trying to infer that information from an image.

I think the best outcome if they want to keep him relevant would be to infuse his powers into him permanently somehow, so they can wax and wane whenever the plot needs them to.

If Infinite loses again I really don’t think they can bring him back with a new Powerful Artifact for a third time and not have him become a joke villain
