it's actually easier to write a literature review when you actually read rather than using AI to summarize it. i tried doing the latter once and it hurt my head more to try to re-write what it spat out at me in my own prose rather than to just write in my own prose

Air Canada must honor refund policy invented by airline’s chatbot Air Canada appears to have quietly killed its costly chatbot support.

Let me see:

- company execs buy into latest tech bubble hype
- implement new tech on the basis of the hype alone
- new tech fucks up gloriously
- tech quietly gets the boot

BOY imagine if this kept happening over and over and over oh wait

"bluesky is so bad" "there are no good features" "the invite system is stupid" "why would i use that" i mean yeah sure we may not have videos or gifs here yet but we also don't have ads, bots, promoted posts, algoritmically manipulated content, censorship, art theft, or a largely fascist user base

This once obscure law is now being invoked with increasing regularity to go after political activists and Chinese nationals for being "foreign agents."

Elon Musk Wants to Relive His Start-Up Days. He’s Repeating the Same Mistakes. What PayPal’s history teaches us about Elon Musk’s management of Twitter

In 2000, Elon Musk became the CEO of PayPal and tried to rename it X.com even though surveys showed the public hated the name but trusted PayPal.

Now he’s repeating the same mistake with Twitter, but this time no one can oust him as CEO.

Bluesky’s growing pains strain its relationship with Black users Bluesky is facing increased pressure to crack down on hateful and violent rhetoric, even though robust moderation conflicts with its decentralized goals.
