New paper out from the Synoxys lab!
We asked an important question: what if plants sensed oxygen like animals do? what if we swapped the O2 sensing across? We built the system to find out. 🧵

Thanks Elwira. Both are excellent reasons to lose sleep over❤️💛
You point to a fascinating void in our understanding. Would love to talk more when we get the chance; you may hold some of the decisive clues in your data.
Congratulations again on your super-massive study!

An honest question that keeps puzzling me - for HPCA1 and now for CRK28: how do those Cys make it through the secretory system without getting oxidised? And once they are out and oxidised - where may they get electrons from to switch back? That seems the key for apoplastic ROS sensing. Any thoughts?
Congratulation!! Loving the major Cys redox effort!
