Made my first rolags on the drum carder today! They're kinda lumpy but that's ok! I'm obsessed with the color. I blended a purple & green polwarth/silk blend with some white undyed polwarth top. Can't wait to spin these!!!!

A large hand knit shawl sits pinned out on blocking mats. The colors are lavender, charcoal, and an almost black navy blue framed by a speckled white main color.

five years this project has been sitting in a project bag on my needles. f i v e. y e a r s.

I was worried I wouldn't like it anymore but I'm surprised by how excited I am now that it's finished.

Sometimes it feels really good to complete a long languishing wip!

My go-to are support spindles but I'm excited to explore turkish spindles more. I have the Ashford turkish spindle but it's so big I find it a little awkward to spin with.

A white woman's hand holds up two skeins of handspun yarn. The skein on the left is a warm light grey, softly spun two ply yarn. The skein on the right is a two ply fractal spun yarn with vibrant violets and aquas and a hint of rusty orange.

I created this account so I should probably post something 😂

What do we think of these for a shawl?

The skein on the left is super special. This was spun from the first fleece I scoured & processed from start to finish, a Romeldale sheep named Waimea.
