NC in the license doesn't allow commercial use unless the entity selling it executes a written contract with you allowing the entity to use the work for commercial activities. In this case, generally the copyright-holder/ licensor gets a share from the money made.
I had no intention of selling it or asking for royalties because it's a work in public interest. So I didn't bother with the NC clause and hadn't considered the present scenario.
Yeah, that's the catch. It's licensed CC-BY 4.0 International. There is no non-commercial (NC) clause in it. This attribution exists on the listing along with the license and it's correct. Although I see plenty of replies mentioning non-licensed works were 'sold' in a similar way.

I just discovered that #Amazon is charging for a Kindle copy of my e-book, which the publishers and I published CC-licensed and free of cost. We didn't list it on Amazon, only on Archive .org, the publisher's site, and Google Play.
