Sending you strength for this journey. It took me a long time to even try. For my mom, it was cough drops, tissues, & dried flowers (she would save them for seeds). It was the hand-written shopping lists that broke me. I guess we loved them a lot if we can be undone by the contents of their purses.❤️‍🩹

I love thinking about what wine to pair with food. I loved picking wine for our guests at the restaurant. But, I do think that rigid structures of what’s right and wrong limit creativity and squeeze out joy. And, I 💯 agree it’s a way of gatekeeping.

Delicious! Just the right amount of berry fruit and acid to pair with the duck. Great mineral backbone. 💯 would pair again. (Or drink on its own. Love this wine.)

They’re saying it’s fine for Krug but not for anyone else. Unlike other wines, for most Champagne houses, buying some grapes is a necessity. So, what gives? 🤔

Pet peeve. Krug makes objectively amazing champagne. Full stop. That said, I think it’s funny how wine writers & somms tie themselves in knots to praise it while simultaneously dinging other houses for buying grapes even when they also make amazing wines. Krug buys approx. 2/3 of its grapes.
