This reminds me a bit of companies discovering, during COVID, that lean manufacturing and just-in-time delivery were extremely fragile in the face of supply disruptions.
But you can’t “warehouse” enough oil to get you through this one.
I thought that when she was in Moto3, but the way she battled with Herrera in WCR showed plenty of confidence and skill. First time I watched SSP was last year, I think, but I wondered whether the Hondas were uncompetetive bikes.
WCR is far more diverse in nationality than other series, but there are still 6 Spaniards and 4 Italians out of 24 entrants. And guess who’s at the top of the standings! Though Jones gave them a battle last year.
That being said, her teammate, Perolari, is greatly outperforming her, IIRC, so it’s not just the bike or lack of funds keeping her down. They’re the only two on CBR600RRs.
Good article. Re women in MC racing, I gather from past reporting that there’s also an issue attracting sponsors. Carrasco suffered from it in Moto3 and I think is still doing so in SSP, where she’s in the “Challenge” sub-class instead of running the full season, despite being 2024 WCR champion.
The new reduction in fuel flow for Ducati has been very effective in reducing their dominance, I see.
Nobody lights up a room (or parc fermé) better than Beatriz Neila.
I’m pretty sure every sport-touring and touring bike on the planet, regardless of style, is over that limit. Even my ‘02 Ducati ST4, which had about 105 HP from its 916 engine. Fun fact: Same P/W as my ‘15 R1200RT.
They’re pining for Mt. Fuji.
I believe this might be one of those times when I’m completely happy not understanding a post.

Oh, I’d say it was a good deal less convincingly, especially considering the predictable consequences that were ignored.
So, we won, right?
If Ogura’s bridges to Honda weren’t already thoroughly burned by going to MSi and then Trackhouse/Aprilia, signing with Yamaha must surely nuke them.
Do two half marathons count as one whole marathon?
But if they manage to rig the elections, that may not matter.
I expect we'll have a better handle on this when we see how much progress he's made with the shoulder over the break. Sad to think a career like his could be derailed by someone else's mistake, though of course that's happened before.
Meanwhile, VP Vance is apparently campaigning for Orban in Hungary. Would he be any better? He might not have MAGA support, but he'll certainly do the billionaire's bidding.

OMG (to use a reaction a "content creator" would understand).
Excellent point, Mat. I wonder if the current system arose from the days of true privateers, when half the field or more might be on the same marque. Your top-two or top-four idea addresses that issue, while making the result more representative of the performance of the marque.
So Kenan Sofuoglu finally got his shot at MotoGP by subbing for Toprak? Or are you just giving Kenan _all_ the credit/blame for Toprak's career? Or is that caption just one hell of a brain fart?
"Stopping to remember something rather than looking it up."
But what if I don't have days to spend waiting for the answer?
Barnard redeveloped it to be up to MotoGP standards.
Listen to the podcast and you'll find out.
That reads more like Hegseth than Trump
Sadly, no motorcycles I’d want to buy, which I was hoping to find. Nor even dealers for the brands I’d want.
Also an F1 themed roller coaster.
I’m at the Feira de Março in Aveiro, and I found Franky’s namesake bikes.
