Lorwyn feels like a pseudo retirement party for me for the level of investment I’ve had emotionally in the game as a player. Everything after that feels like it’s gonna be work to be excited-for for me, so decoupling the work/play overlap is probably healthy in the long run.

Story is the meaning that helps connect all these pieces. I hope that future universes within sets we see asmall 3-5 chapter arc or PW guide to help things feel full of life and less hollow, because goddamn, these artists poured so much life + love into this set.

Some of the Art and flavor to make individual cards makes sense is genius, but lack of story to underpin why there are suddenly several spider people or spider riders (or at least visible story to public, cause im sure theres a style guide) makes this feel MORE disconnected from magic, not less
