This seems like such a timely book - I look forward to hearing more about it!

Pretty wildflowers growing from tall green stems. The sun is illuminating delicate crΓͺpe-paper-like white petals.
Earth Day: the perfect time to stop and appreciate what we've got. π I'm so grateful for our beautiful home planet, we really need to stop taking it for granted. All lives are interconnected. We have a responsibility to look after our Earth. π

There's only one perfect photo for this year's Earth Day, and it's this one that the Artemis II crew took. Happy Earth Day.
Even in shandy form, I still wouldn't touch Tennent's with a barge pole π
That's a lovely gesture π
No way is that a coincidence! πͺ·
A patch of pretty daisy-like flowers in bloom, with pinkish-purple petals and green leaves. (I believe they might be Cape Marguerites.)
A little #Bloomscrolling is good for the soul. πΈ

A large owl butterfly is resting on a slice of fresh orange and feeding on the fruit. Its colours are muted shades of brown, with a distinctive yellow and black "eye" or spot pattern on its lower wings. Leafy green foliage can be seen in the background.
Another π¦ for @rina2012.bsky.social's #ButterflyWeek.
I believe this is an owl butterfly, it was huge! I saw it up close on a visit to the Hortus Botanicus in Amsterdam last April with my sister. I also love the Dutch word for butterflies, "vlinders" - it feels very apt!

A small copper butterfly (Lycaena phlaeas) rests on a batch of yellow daisy-like flowers with forest greenery behind. The butterfly is a vibrant orange colour with deep brown markings.
I just found out about @rina2012.bsky.social's #ButterflyWeek, so here is one from me! π¦
Small copper butterfly, seen in the Thornielee Forest, Scottish Borders, August 2021.

A beautiful tree at the edge of the Gala Policies woodland. Its green leaves are illuminated by the sunlight and dappling the moss-covered network of tree roots.
A lovely (beech?) tree at the edge of the Gala Policies, a local woodland here in Galashiels. π³ It is part of the Southern Upland Way, which is a route spanning from the west coast of Scotland right across to the east coast.

That is very nifty indeed! π
A close-cropped photo of a train platform edge with various markings and textures. The overall effect looks like bands of assorted horizontal stripes with a vignette effect/blurred edges. A thick yellow line has been painted on the ground, followed by a dot pattern of raised yellow bumps for the visually impaired, and the stencilled words "mind the gap" in yellow paint and a white-ish paving along the very edge of the platform.
"Please mind the gap."

High stone garden wall with some holly growing above it. There is a street sign that used to read "Victoria Gardens" but it's old and badly damaged with parts of the lettering having crumbled away.
The #edge of this street sign in Kirkcaldy had all crumbled away.

Ahaha, so true! Walking around that city has certainly kept me fit(ter) over the years!
View from above a set of train tracks at Edinburgh Park train station, looking towards the city. In the distance is the distinctive outline of Arthur's Seat and a blue sky with big puffy clouds.
Snapshot from the #edge of a city (Edinburgh), looking towards Arthur's Seat.

The imposing ruins of Kelso Abbey in the south of Scotland, with a view of the cemetery within its grounds, where there are many lovely old headstones to explore.
Such a difference to how it looks today - or what's left of it! The Kelso Abbey ruins are still pretty impressive all the same.

One for you @shanchat.bsky.social πΆπΎ
Sketchbook page (neutral/creamy coloured bamboo paper) showing a coloured pencil drawing of a pink rose in bloom, surrounded by green leaves.
Slightly belated post for World Art Day. π
I drew this for someone who used to teach me when I lived in Berlin. π©πͺ Something that feels like a long time ago now, but I fondly remember. πΊ A *lot* less screen time in those days - no bad thing! I defo did a lot more drawing back then.

On a one-way trip, preferably!

Ooof, hard relate! I often think kindness and being open to actually feeling your feelings (stuffing them down never ends well!) are wildly underrated qualities. I accept that when it comes with anxiety, it can be something of a double-edged sword, however!
I have a lefty Squier precision bass that I saved up for with money from my first ever job, circa 2000, and though I don't play it often now, it still has the same strings on it! π
