Re: abortion access, *any* law enforcement agency in the country can access Denver’s license plate camera info via Flock — including those in Texas and other jurisdictions criminalizing people seeking healthcare in states like Colorado.
It’s important to note that Denver Police and Mayor Johnston give ICE direct access to license plate and location data via use of Flock — materially jeopardizing the safety of immigrants, as well as people traveling to Colorado for abortion access.
And they want to expand the contract!
Johnston may have just been speaking hypothetically when he talks about people “damaging someone’s small business,” “light(ing) cars on fire,” and “assaulting an officer” — but if he's worried about TV-based perceptions maybe don't go on TV and mention three things that did not happen last night?
