I don't know exactly when I'll be done, but I do see the finish line. ๐ฅฐ
I also hope I'll be able to make passive income from it. We'll have to see, I guess. At least, it'll be a huge resume booster for me. ๐

There's a project I've been working on on-and-off for a little over 6 months. It was an idea I had and started years ago, but I did the main work manually (collecting links) instead of using APIs. lol ๐
If I did things the way I did back then, this project would've taken many years to complete.
I haven't checked my Blogger/Blogspot in almost 20 years, and the interface for editing the blog layout is so slow and clunky. Feels a lot like WordPress. lol
LOL
The dead internet theory is a reality now. ๐ข
RIP Digg Beta... we shall meet again one day.
NEW: A hobbyist has created Nearby Glasses, an app that warns you if someone close by is wearing smart glasses. 404 Media spoke to the creator who said he was inspired by our coverage that uncovers how men are wearing Meta's Ray-Bans to covertly film massage parlor workers.
Days after creating a Bento.me account, I get an email saying that they're shutting down on Feb 13, 2026. ๐
The good thing is that I only signed up to do research, but what timing. And typical shitty business practice of a big company acquiring a small company only to shut it down. #latepost
Rewatching some episodes of Physical: Asia. Totally forgot that someone on the Korean team called Katsumi and Itoi "the pretty boy duo" when they won their death match against Indonesia. ๐คฃ
The entire cast took it a step further by creating content on Instagram and YouTube, showing unity and cultural exchange. Mongolia leaned heavily into promoting their country, thanks to the response their team got internationally.
And now, we're getting a spin-off: Welcome to Mongolia! Woo-hoo!
I love that the show was not really about who'd win, but rather, a way to introduce the world to different countries and show how their problem solving skills are influenced by their culture and history. That probably wasn't what the show creator intended, but it was a positive side effect.
Lately, I've been obsessed with Physical: Asia and its cast. Everyone has such a great attitude and personality. Eddie Williams (AU) aka Tombayar is definitely the show's unofficial social media manager. Amotti is basically a Korean ambassador and tour guide for all the other teams visiting Korea. ๐
Super late update: Turns out I received a size 11, because they had some glitch in their system that gave everyone who ordered 1.5 sizes up. Exchanged for a size 10 to accommodate thicker socks. Puma offered a discount for the mistake, so I'm happy. Also, the shoes look magical IRL. ๐ฅฐ
I think I might be done buying bags/purses... at least, for a long while. lol
This backpack is basically an upgrade to the backpack I've been using for 10+ years. I'll definitely be using this one for the rest of my life. ๐
JRPG adventurer backpack GET!
I've been eyeing this bag for over a year. Hoped for a sale or price drop, but I ended up having to buy it at full price because it's sold out online. ๐ญ
There's a Japanese Mercari/eBay seller who's selling a used bag for full price. So glad I managed to get one new! ๐
Cheaper headphones/earbuds hide poor sound quality. It's definitely one of the downsides of high-quality headphones, because I feel like some video editors just use Airpods and call it a day. ๐
I bought open-back headphones and have used them for the past three days. They feel pretty weird, TBH. I'm so used to closed-back headphones and not being able to hear most sounds.
They sound great, but really expose videos that have not been edited with sound in mind...
And the parents who think their lives have more value than childless people should go fuck themselves, honestly.
The contestants were worse than the characters in the actual Squid Game drama. I have a feeling S3 will be even worse. S2's final game was also very anticlimactic. What a waste of time.
Instead of elimination via games, too many were handpicked eliminations. ๐
Also, S1's contestants were far more likeable. S2 was full of insufferable, selfish people. It's one thing to play the game; it's another to be a backstabbing asshole. I felt like I was watching office politics play out.
I hope that the next Squid Game: The Challenge season doesn't allow rich people in. Like, I get wanting to create a villain, but that villain made it to the very end. Thank goodness he didn't win. His greed got the best of him.
I rate the show 2/5 stars. It was trying so hard to imitate the drama.
I finally got invited to Digg's closed beta! ๐ญ
Really hope it either lives up to the OG or is a better version of Reddit once it's ready for the public.

PUMA x WICKED Speedcat Goodness in Lilac Crush-Silver Mist-Intense Lavender
I guess Puma drops are not as crazy as Nike's. I got the cute lavender Wicked shoes, but the biggest size they offered was 9.5. The Elphaba ones go up to size 11 as do the silver ballet shoes.
Do they assume women with bigger feet don't wanna be cute? ๐ #Wicked #Puma #sneakerhead

I wish there was a way to block bots that mass follow. ๐
While I'll talk about politics from time to time, it's not the focus of this account.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses seem pretty cool; big upgrade from the current ones on the market. But the fact that they're by Meta means I'm never getting them. I have the same concerns about them as I did with Google Glass over a decade ago, except I have even more concerns now...
I just want to share stuff I find interesting or talk about different topics without worrying about bothering others. Feel free to follow this account if you don't mind my randomness. ๐
Some people make their jobs/careers their entire identity (no shade; you do you), but that isn't me. I enjoy too many things to be defined by one thing.
I don't mean that in an "oh, I'm sooo artistic and unique" kind of way; I'm just not a fan of being put in a box when I don't neatly fit in any.
If you haven't noticed already, I like to keep things organized, even if it means having several separate accounts with less frequent activity. I don't want to spam people with topics they have no interest in.
I've created a separate Bluesky account for my random thoughts. My main account @yunalesca.com is J>E localization, anime, manga, and video games-focused (basically, Japan and Japanese media), so I felt a little stifled when it came to talking about anything unrelated.
