Savage Scallywags: Wanted Scoundrels (Black Dandan Variant) - Dandan Shared Deck 20 life format. Each player starts with a swamp and a treasure.

Magic Variant of the week.
Dandan has inspired other great mini games. Here’s another.
Derek Neumann’s Savage Scallywags. A black shared library game based around Wanted Scoundrels where killing them replenishes the mana spent on them so it’s always an uphill battle.

Magic Variant of the week.
Dandan has inspired a lot of great mini games. Here’s another.
It’s Miguel Grados’ Hot Sushi. A red/artifact board control game with a Lantern Control sub-theme, based around Red Herring, another two mana fish. It’s Sushi time.

Magic Variant of the week.
They won’t all be mine. Dandan has inspired a lot of great mini games.
This week it’s my Dandanless Dandan deck. No life. Just the cards in the library. It’s more fun and interesting than think. Plays faster than Dandan.

Hey, Dan! Recent updates has it singing again. For quite a time it was slogging a little. Revisiting it again soon since I have not thoroughly digested the last 5 or so years of in universe sets.

My Google Doc for RPS now contains printable proxies. Now you can print the whole thing and sleeve up proxies to try it tomorrow. After FF/Dandan it is my oldest and most fun variant. Give it a try! I'll update the proxies as I make changes to the deck. docs.google.com/document/d/1...

I’ve signed quite a few Dandans for players and given away many too. I’m all out now, again. Today I signed my first Secret Lair Dandan, and one of the same player’s Memory Lapse. The gold paint marker looked great.

Dear Magic I’m always thinking about community. When I made the decision to venture to Minnesota for Shoebox, I didn’t know what to expect. But I was excited. A community focused event, run and ho…

The chance to attend @shoebox.gg had me wondering what is it about this game that keeps pulling us together. The world weighs heavy, but time and time again I'm always astounded by the joy we find in Magic. I continue to try and capture those feelings.

Please enjoy, Dear Magic

Missed the Dandan Secret Lair drop... because we were at @shoebox.gg, busy playing the DanDan Secret Lair with its creator, @magicstorytime.bsky.social

I'd love to snag one someday, but I think we got the better trade here lmao

Yeah, they sent me a leftover from Atlanta in December. Thankfully. I wish everyone who wanted one had the chance to get one. But maybe some day there will be another chance in some form.

From the Chaos Vault: Secret Lair Dandân Decklist Dandân has officially surfaced in Secret Lair! This 80-card, Fish-filled deck will be available tomorrow, March 16, through the Chaos Vault.

The official article on Secret Lair: Dandan went up this morning. It was a dream leading this with @corriganabe.bsky.social, but I cannot stress enough that this wouldn't be possible without @magicstorytime.bsky.social.

Magic's players are its legacy.

Thirty years ago, Nick Floyd created a wildly popular two-player Magic format played with a single shared deck. Now, Secret Lair is bringing our own take to the table — transforming Dandân into a deck of our own, coming soon.

Very cool. In my experience the more you play these things the more the “problems” will show themselves and you can weed them out. Keep creating.

Well I have my quick-start cards for players to just grab and play a game they maybe know nothing about. Here is the FF one. But it doesn’t answer questions that may arise like I try with my google doc primers.
