Thanks to @anncurry.bsky.social for highlighting the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, which has received far too little attention 🙏🏻

New paper published in European Societies. "Results showed dramatic levels of ethnic discrimination: a Roma person would need to contact nine landlords to secure a viewing whereas a non-Roma person only two.”with @lindatropp.bsky.social @lioramorhayim.bsky.social direct.mit.edu/euso/article...
as @maddow.bsky.social notes, there are *so* many reasons to show up to a No Kings protest tomorrow... doesn't matter where or why, just do it!
(and be sure to register, to help organizers and data analysts track crowd size 🤓)

We’re going to make history next weekend and welcome so many new people into organizing against the regime. #NoKings
Should we spend $22 BILLION on another illegal war in the Middle East—or on building 100,000 affordable housing units in America?
Trump chose an illegal war. What would you choose?
Trump has already spent more in 9 days on his war with Iran than the USDA spends in an entire year on giving breakfasts to kids in school.
So much for America First.
We could really use your help to make No Kings Day as big and powerful as possible. Your support will power the thousands of massive and peaceful events planned across the US and the world. Please pitch in if you can to make March 28 a day of nonviolent protest that will echo across the planet.
The world is watching Trump turn our nation into a rogue state as he threatens our allies, abandons the vulnerable and unleashes chaos that impacts their families directly and indirectly. Iranian civilians went from a brave struggle against their own tyrannical government to fleeing bombs from ours.
If the government gets to decide if you have them, they're not human rights.
It’s time to reveal the billionaire donors flooding American elections with potent dark money. I’m introducing the DISCLOSE Act with Senator Whitehouse and Rep. Pappas to make our money-drenched elections more transparent for all citizens.
So glad we had a chance to meet in person, and look forward to keeping in touch!
@drzilwhite.bsky.social @ericdknowles.bsky.social @gordonhodsonphd.bsky.social @pbump.com this is the "first view" online version of the paper referenced in prior posts, hope you might find it useful 🙏🏻
From the abstract:
"We find clear and consistent evidence that whites who receive their political news from Fox News are significantly more likely to support core tenets of the GRT [Great Replacement Theory] than those who do not."

(between images of a map showing the nearly 2,000 No Kings Day events planned for March 28) NO THRONES. NO CROWNS.
There are nearly 2,000 events on the No Kings Day map in all 50 states (and 10 countries). March 28 will be the largest protest in American history. Find your local event or plan a protest in your area: www.nokings.org?SQF_SOURCE=i...

Warnock: "We heard tonight the rumblings of a desperate man who's trying to present case he can for the midterms. It was half lies, half grievances. He knows he is quickly losing power."
I’ve gone to every State of the Union since I was elected to Congress—including during Trump’s first term. I’d rather stick needles in my eyes than listen to his manifesto of mistruths.
Concerned about ICE's $45 billion plan to convert warehouses into immigration detention centers? This is what they'll look like inside. From ICE's plan for the Social Circle, GA facility. Each little dot: a person. www.socialcirclega.gov/home/showpub...
check out this hugely important and informative thread about protest activities across the US by @chenoweth.bsky.social and colleagues
Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.
This is a pogrom
