Justice delayed is justice denied. Crucial (for victims and accused) to get rid of the multi-year backlog and apart from an amnesty(!) this is best way to do it

$15 would represent almost a doubling of the FEDERAL minimum wage. Only a few states observe it, most states have a local minimum of $10-15 and a few are over $15 (Mass, NY, DC). (My data is a couple of years old)

Who benefits from the abolition of stamp duty land tax?

The first answer: people buying very expensive homes. Average saving for someone buying a £10m+ home is £1.7m. Average saving for someone buying a £250k-£500k home is £5k.

When I was an MP (Labour) Dicky Bird came to my constituency to open a new cricket pavilion in a pretty village. At one point, clearly disconcerted, he said to me privately ‘They’re all *** Tories here, aren’t they?’

Uk will be one of several countries signing up this week leaving only a tiny minority of UN members outside. Agree it won’t have much if any immediate impact on Gaza but solidarity with the majority of Palestinians who live in occupied West Bank which must be the basis of a future Palestinian state

I look forward to delivering my keynote to next week's 'amfori' European Sustainability Summit 2025. www.amfori.org/event/amfori...
