I really gotta start on the add on parts, like the tail, head, and ears but oourghh I keep appreciating how good all these little details look

Here's a ton of detail shots within SL showing the mats in a few different ways.

Some shots are just the normal and roughness map, some lower roughness making for good rim lighting. Then a look at the emissive and occlusion to bake in some lighting.

Rendered out some fancy shots, I can say I'm finally done with these materials. Not perfect by any means but I feel like I've finished what I set out to do with these body mats. Just gotta wrap up the add on bits and have a fully set up avi.

All the body mat stuff being tedious lately, took a day to experiment with some pbr eye textures. These are still a wip because I want to adjust the balance of a few things.

Feeling pretty confident in making pbr textures, just time consuming until I don't need to experiment as much.

Still actually working on these pbr mats almost every moment I'm able, glad this is a personal project considering how long ago I started, but anyway here's a new wip of some pbr body mats on my pink cat.

One very quick point of advice I can say is you'll need multiple detailed normal maps for PBR to look it's best.

I think one upside to taking absurdly long to progress my personal project of making pbr body textures has been learning stuff at kind of a natural pace. Like not being overloaded all at once. Each time I learn something new it helps complete a loop with all the work I've already done as well.

yeah honestly it's hard to tell what's new battle damage on it.
It's always been in a drawer or in a dvd shelf so the fact it started rusting asap must be due to whatever mix of metals used in the production of these. if someone has a pristine steelbook after 20 years that'd be super rare I think.

Feel like these steelbooks started to rust seconds after getting it. If I'm remembering right even sliding the plastic sleeve on and off would scratch it. The actual discs and booklet are in good condition though! Also by comparison the destiny 1 steelbook avoided rusting somehow.

Every time I stumble upon my old halo 2 case it looks like a damn artifact dug up out of the ground.

Feeling like I've been making progress the last couple weeks towards motivation and energy. been really rough until I could put into words what was making me feel so sluggish. Constantly been adjusting my day to day schedule to help lessen some side effects and get myself into a better mindset 😮‍💨

swapping out the momentum fans feeling like the right choice for this build 😌

Since I already have some old pics I've taken to show the scale of 180mm fans I'll add 'em here. first pic is a 120, then a 140, and then the 180. The few cases that use 180s seems to get great temps/crazy airflow but other than the prisma AL-18 I think the only other option is the HAVN H18.

the few extra inches does make a huge difference though. Makes the motherboard look like it's a mile away from the front case fans if you aren't using a big radiator or a big ass gpu.

might be the 180 fans making the case look a smaller than it is since this is the XL version of the meshify 3.

It's a full tower so from the front of the case to the back it's about 22 inches long. Where as my torrent compact case is 17 inches front to back.

This isn't going to be an all white build, but I did get the set of white fractal prisma fans I wanted to use with the white meshify 3 😌

spent my day fiddling with horrible sl shape sliders to give leon's head more of a fox look.

also I should probably add I waited a Long while before getting the meshify 3. During november it got a HUGE discount so I couldn't resist. think price wise it was close to what the 3-pack of fans and the adjust pro hub cost. Which those will be put to use still in my other case 😤

Going to be interesting using the Meshify 3 as a Torrent 2.0 case. Too bad fractal doesn't have a 180mm of their new set of fans. Though either way I probably don't need yet another set of case fans just to have white versions.

As of checking this moment, the 64gb kit I got early last year costs about 1,000 usd on newegg and amazon 💀

Prisma fans were limited when I grabbed a few 140s and a 120 for the torrent case I got late last year.

Was hoping maybe I could get 2 180's and a 140 but with the white frame because while setting up a meshify 3 case I saw it fits 180s in the front 👀

Damn, didn't have the foresight I'd want a few fractal prisma case fans in white. Now they basically don't exist or are ridiculously expensive 😔
