back well before suno, i tried out a couple "ai plugins" for making sounds and such for music. almost immediately, I was frustrated with how limited the actual control was. like, if I add reverb, I want to manage it! ended up not being a good tool in the end, for me.

sometimes my songs come together really fast, like a day or two. other times, I can hear something i like and it may take months before i want to "do the rest." both are valid!

One thing I tell folks who are curious about using AI to make a part of their work is that AI isn't a secret. Not only can people recognize it, but they know it's low effort. Associating yourself with low effort stuff makes the rest of your work also feel low effort.
