What Jesse Jackson Taught Me About Being White An evening with the uplifting energy of an exhausted Reverend Jesse Jackson taught me the importance of understanding my differences. And to stitch them together with others'.

Dear democratic world, today I’d like to apologize on behalf of the Asunder States of America for our infantile assumption that serious people will not be able to remember their question for the full time it takes us to refuse to answer it.

Congrats, Bill. I’m looking forward to reading this. I’m only a few pages in, but already glad for your perspective.

Rewrite the Script USA Rather than watch in horror as tragedies occur, then immediately turn our energy to who needs to be fired, impeached, shamed, or arrested, let’s pause. Let's care.

We Write at Dawn This Sunday, April 27th 2025, on Cory Booker's birthday, I'm writing my representatives with the ammunition they need to fix our country. It should only take 25 hours and 5 minutes. Please join me.

I'm pulling an all nighter this Sunday night (Senator Cory Booker's birthday) in an effort to communicate to my elected officials, as cool-headedly as I can, how current policies are impacting me and my community. Please join me (or at least send good coffee). pamohara.substack.com/p/we-write-a...

April 27th: A Marathon of Good Trouble Sunday, April 27 is Senator Cory Booker's birthday. Let's rise that day for a marathon of good trouble to get our country back on track.

Marching, donating, and voting are important, but if we want our elected officials to address our specific panic, we need to voice it. Bravely, boldly, on Senator Booker's birthday, let's make some good trouble.

Dear world, how about a giant search-and-replace of
DEI -> IDE. Same concept, different order. That way those afraid of "inclusion, diversity, and equity" will have little recourse without also erasing tides, brides, double wides, snarky asides, hunting guides, slip-n-slides, & political divides.

Providence, RI representing. It was a nasty, cold, rainy day here and I could never see (or hear) the far end of the crowd.

Providence, RI today. Nasty, raining, cold weather and I could never get close enough to hear the sound system speakers.

I wish I could do more, but for now I will tell the Ukrainians, Poles, Europeans, and friends all over the world defending democracies that I thank you, I love you, and I am doing everything I can to support you. pamohara.substack.com/p/a-love-let...

I start to despair for the United States, but then I remember the inclusive generosity that was Schitt's Creek. And then I remember that it was made by Canadians. And then I despair.

Lots of folks are at it. You can help by reposting and commenting on all your socials. Push back on lies, too.

I quit Instagram today. I was lurking there for the writing community. But my suggested reels morphed from wiggly puppies at the front door awaiting parents to violent dogs severely shaking smaller siblings. I see you, bots, trying to flood my head with ugly. Where’d you learn that?

I started making a list of journalists on Substack, but that doesn’t seem to be their flocking spot. Not sure where is.

News nerds, how do we, the common folk, financially support a beleaguered press corps so the 4th estate holds? TV back on? Re-up WaPo? Podcasts? Substack? I don’t want my outrage to defund our best defense, but platforms feel scattered & suspect. @karaswisher.bsky.social @hcrichardson.bsky.social
