Their marriage had been bumpy leading up to her trip due to Gable not keeping in his pants. They made up at the last minute. She was supposed to take a train home but was anxious to get back. It's like the Fates had it in for her. So many moving parts that led to her plane flying into that mountain.

Name of the book is "Errol Flynn Slept Here." Written by Robert Matzen, who btw also wrote a very good book about Carole Lombard's plane crash & events leading up to it.

Speaking of Flynn, there's an interesting book about the (now demolished) custom house he had built up in the Hills called Mulholland Farm. The book uses the house as a focal point to follow his life around the time he lived there. Quite a party pad! Couple famous ppl owned it after Flynn. #TCMParty
