I just did this out of interest as I’m an energy/climate person, but have not gotten a single benefit even though I’m in arlington in a sfh. And the quote from this was OVER FOURTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS for a 1k sqft house. Total rip-off!!! Was any Arl taxpayer money or time spent on this?!?!
Love it! I’m building a raised bed in my backyard with all scavenged buy nothing materials, and all of the additional landscaping I’ve been doing has been with pieces from buy nothing. I freaking love that group.

A sad and insanely frustrating thing about this is a huge bike commuting hub – most of us from Arlington go right past this and use the memorial bridge because it’s by far the safest and nicest Potomac crossing on a bike. It’s also accessible from the MVT. And Custis.

It’s so important. But whose decision was it to make signs out of that horrible plastic – guys, major fail. You can’t even see the message as they are floppy, the font is tiny, and they just look unprofessional and messy! I know signs are expensive. But this- pretty bad, yall.

Gee, what a great idea it was to switch contractors – an opaque decision made by our unelected county manager. We all knew there would be problems, and there were. Why was this decision even made in the first place?!
Um DUH!! These have no pros for the region – only cons. No jobs. Completely stress out the electric grid, use tons of water, use very loud and dirty backup power. We don’t want these - but yet we still incentivize them to come here?!
Because they are built super cheaply like crap. These investor houses can go f themselves. The one on Adams hasn’t even sold yet, has it? This is the land of tiny bungalows and duplexes. I don’t think mm would have made a difference with this one. Ugh.

It’s not that. It’s because it doesn’t make any sense – think about why you want to recycle. It takes almost as much energy to make new glass from old glass, it’s heavy, and there’s a carbon penalty with transport. It’s totally nontoxic in landfills. It feels weird, but class is OK to throw away.
I’m healing from knee surgery too and can’t believe how horrible it has been trying to get around arlington. I don’t know how anyone uses a wheelchair here AT ALL. And it’s not just the snow. Why is it so bad, Mr county manager?!
