Latest on unemployment insurance in NY State. James Parrott on how workers will get an increase in benefits, employers will get a bailout, and the UI boat will still leak -- www.centernyc.org/urban-matter....
Fixing unemployment insurance in US states can feel Sisyphean at times. But maybe this year New York State will get serious about fixing its inadequate and regressive tax structure, which has led to a freeze in benefits levels since 2019. Here's my op ed --

Earlier this year (gosh, doesn't time fly) we celebrated the official launch of Work-Net International and we're pleased to announce that videos from the launch, including our 2 panel discussions, are now available: www.alliancembs.manchester.ac.uk/news/work-ne...
Worker misclassification is costing law abiding employers many millions and making it very difficult for workers to get unemployment benefits. See the short video by my @cornellilr.bsky.social students, and learn about proposed legislation in NY State to fix it! www.ilr.cornell.edu/ithaca-co-la...

Not easy to get so many people together for a photo, but we’re thrilled so many of our Work-Net representatives could be together for the official launch at the @workequalities.bsky.social Fairness at Work conference! A huge thank you to everyone who supported us and we can’t wait to get started!
Just got home from Manchester, where I attended the edifying and intellectually stimulating launch of @worknetint.bsky.social

A good bunch of Unions and other associated Labor orgs/unionists have joined in the last day or so. Been able to add more to the American Labor Starter Pack I've got going.
Attention #tradeunion Skywalkers!
Here's a second starter pack we've been curating: this time for the many accounts of trade unions and federations across Europe.
